chapter thirty three

Emily POV

And there I was, in a hospital trying to ignore the pain of having lost my mother. I guess now I can understand why Tyler hides from the world so much; this is one of the worst pains I've ever felt, or rather, the worst.

Tyler had already been attended to, and they were closing the wound. I was in the waiting room next to Josh, still so many things to sort out. Emma and Caroline had escaped, and there was also this woman Paul was talking about. How would I tell Tyler that Emma was his grandmother?

"Justin has woken up; he wants to talk to you," Josh appeared at the door and left immediately.

I opened the third door in the corridor and found Justin lying on the bed with a bored expression larger than the bandage surrounding his body.

"Look who it is, our heroine!" He said, laughing and trying to make a somewhat awkward reference.

"Look who it is, the savior of the nation, that shot was accurate, huh?" I replied, returning the smile and giving him a hug.
