chapter thirty-four

Tyler POV

I regretted opening my eyes fully and almost blinding myself because of the exaggerated brightness of that place. It didn't take long to remember what had happened. I wanted to find Emily quickly; there were so many things to talk about, and she must be going through the worst moment of her life. Losing her mother in that way wasn't the best option for a pregnant woman. How the world turns, isn't it? Her father kills my mother, and my father ends up killing her mother. Destiny seemed to enjoy playing with us.

I was slightly startled when the doorknob turned, and Josh appeared, opening a ear-to-ear smile when he saw me.

"You're alive!" He practically shouted in my ear.

"Yeah, but if you don't let go, I might not last long," I said, adjusting my body so that the wound wouldn't touch anything.

"You needed to have seen how Emily was to save you."
