chapter twenty-six

**Emily POV:**

I was in the living room with Justin and Caroline when Tyler passed by us and left without giving any explanation. He was probably going to get drunk and either show up tomorrow or spend the night with some random woman.

It doesn't matter; I don't care anymore. Who am I trying to fool anyway? Of course, I cared. It was my man going out to sleep with other women thanks to my impulsiveness and because I wasn't good enough anymore.

I know I'm wrong to think this way. It's not my fault. Of course not. The sound of a message on the phone indicated it was Caroline's. She picked it up, read something, and got up, grabbing her purse.

"Sorry, love, I have to go," she said, kissing Justin on the forehead. "And Emily, take care." She winked at me and left immediately.

"Looks like it's just the two of us," Justin said, looking at me with a discouraged expression.

"Yeah, seems like it," I agreed, not much different from him.
