Chapter 1: We're Meeting Them

"What the fuck are you talking about" I scream at my mother who looks at me in disgust.

"I'm talking about the man I'm about to marry" she smirked at me causing me to scoff.

"And you what just expect me to follow you around" I said rage practically filling my veins as I glared at the woman who shares my DNA.

"You will do as I say Amara" she said in a low tone while stepping towards me "you know what will happen otherwise" she whispered into my ear.

Her breath fanning my face as her hand lightly touches an old scar causing my body to want to revolt away from her touch.

"Of course mother" I whispered as she leaned back with a smirk across her face.

"Good now leave my sight, you'll meet them tonight" she stated while turning around.

"Them" I ask, causing her to scoff and look back at me while rolling her eyes.

"Yes them" she stated as if I was stupid "him and his four sons" she said before walking down the hall.

"Fuck me" I mumbled under my breath before walking up the staircase that was behind me.

Heading up the stairs I try to control my breathing and calm myself down.

Making it into my room I quickly lock the door behind me and unbutton my top breathing a bit heavily.

Leaning against the door I try to stay calm before ripping my shirt all the way off, the feeling of the fabric almost suffocating me.

Walking into my bathroom I see myself in the mirror.

My hair was disheveled probably from me running my fingers through it repeatedly while conversing with my mother.

Looking down I see some bruises and scars causing me to sigh before looking down at the sink I was leaning against.

Taking a deep breath I move and take a shower before laying down in my bed.

Letting sleep engulf me and help me forget about the new situation at hand.

"Amara" I heard a scream as my door kept shaking causing my eyes to widen in fear.

The only person I’m truly afraid of, my mother Circe Spade, and she was outside clearly pissed off.

In hopes of not making it worse my body jumps up out of the bed before I swing the door open.

Her glare was piercing as she breathed heavily causing me to lean my head down a little.

"You ungrateful little bitch" she scowled at me before shoving me further into the room.

"You're so lucky" she whispered while harshly gripping my face.

"Wear this" she grumbled before throwing a dress onto my bed after she let go of my face "and wear the white heels not the red ones" she said before exiting the room and slamming the door behind her causing me to flinch.

Looking over towards my bed I let out a sigh at the dress that laid there crumbled up into what looked like a little ball.

Grabbing the dress I hold it up in front of me before rolling my eyes.

"She definitely wants me to look cute and innocent I take it" I said while taking a large breath.

Placing the dress down on my bed gently, I run my hands down my face before shaking my hands outward on either side of my body.

Walking over to the vanity I do my hair pulling it into small intricate designs while still letting most of it fall down past my shoulders.

Putting on a small bit of makeup I cover the beginning of forming bruises on my cheeks where my mother grabbed me earlier.

I finally finish and stand up.

Walking back over to the bed I grab the dress and some white heels like she demanded not wanting to anger my mother further.

After changing I look into the floor length mirror "at least I look cute" I whisper while flattening the dress down a bit more.

Placing some small pearls on my wrist and a small necklace around my neck I let out a sigh and looked over myself one more time.

I nod my head at myself before exiting the room and heading down stairs in order to be on time.

"Took you long enough" my mother complained as I stepped down the stairs.

"My apologies" I whispered while looking towards the ground but she just scoffs and walks out the door.

"Let's just go" she said as she stepped up to our driver who opened the car door for her to enter.

Walking out I close the door behind me and take a deep breath before climbing into the car after her.

The driver closes it after me before he goes around and begins driving, after a few minutes of silence and my mother scrolling through her phone she begins talking.

"I expect you to be on your best behavior" she stated sternly.

"Of course mother," I replied in a similar tone.

"I mean it, no screw ups, I need this to be perfect" she said while raising an eyebrow towards me as she finally looked away from her phone.

"Yes ma'am" I nodded stiffly causing her to nod back before she looked back down at her phone.

Looking out the window I watch as building after building passes until we make it to a large home.

The enormous metal gates get pulled open by a large group of men as the driver moves through them leading us to go down a rather large driveway.

Pulling up to a house my mother finally turns off her phone and looks up "don't screw up" she said in a threatening tone before the driver opened the door for us to exit.

After my mother gets out I follow her with my face blank even as my mother puts on a genuine smile which I rarely ever see.

The doors open as we step up letting a rather tall man come into view "Ms. Spade don't you look ravishing" he said towards my mother causing her to smirk at him.

"Well thank you Mr. Pierce you look quite ravishing yourself" she flirted back.

Stepping up I watch as the man smirks and brings my mother close to him before he looks over at me.

"You must be her daughter" he said, reaching his hand out, looking over at my mother she glared at me before wiping the look off of her face.

"Yes sir, my name is Amara" I said with a soft smile while shaking his hand.

"Well it's nice to meet you Amara, I'm William" he said smiling a little while I bow my head down for a moment in respect.

"The pleasure is all mine Mr. Pierce" I said, causing him to smile.

"Great manners" he said quietly before moving to the side and gesturing to me "please come in" he said.

Nodding, I walk past them to see a large open room, a chandelier hung down from the center with a spiraling staircase following it up to the next floor.

Oh she is so doing this for money, I thought to myself while I looked around for a moment.

The front door closes catching my attention and I look back "you have a beautiful home Mr. Pierce" I said politely.

"Thank you Amara" he said politely as he and my mother began to walk.

"Please follow me to the dining room" he said while walking ahead towards the left side of the room.

Following them I see my mother look back over her shoulder and glare at me for a moment before looking back at him and sending him a soft smile.

Letting out a small sigh we walk into the dinning room and when I look up I see them
