And as I reached to touch the monsters' stretched-out hand, he suddenly recoiled and picked his head up. "Are you sure this is the right house?" The sound of people talking seemed to scare the monsters and they disappeared in a flash.
I heard footsteps come through our front door. There were three men dressed in black and one woman with silver hair. I was scared that they were monsters in disguise as well.
The woman's black trench coat swept the floor with each step she took. "Little girl," she said, bending her knees until she was eye level with me, "what is your name?"
I swallowed hard. "May." My voice was meek and she stood up straight.
"Are these people your family, May?" She questioned, getting back down to eye level with me.
The silver woman was scary and I was afraid. My body shook as I nodded to answer her question. "Yes, that's my mom, dad, and brother," I stuttered.
