“Hey, you,” I say to Ash and put him on speakerphone. “I’m with Georgie.”

“I know. Hi, love,” he says, unsurprised.​ I guess Georgie has been texting him. Georgie says hi back, “So, Cain, have you talked to Justin yet?”

“Not yet, we’re on our way to see him right now. Why? What’s going on with him?” I ask, my back straightening. Something smells fishy here, maybe he got into trouble?

“I don’t know, but this is the first time he hasn’t come to a physiotherapy appointment with me. It’s just a bit odd, I think he’s angrier than he seems,” he murmurs with a sigh, and I know he’s upset about it. I shake my head, annoyed with my brother. Leaving Ash alone for something so important is fucked up.

“I’ll talk to him, I’ll make sure he stops acting like a jackass,” I promise.

“That’s fine, but remember what I’ve told you. Don’t fight with him, you’re a cute deer,” he says and I roll my eyes while Georgie lets out an annoying little chuckle, “Love, are you spending the night with us?”
