Warm Feelings

“This is… very green,” Cain says as we’re walking to the restaurant, which happens to be in the middle of a very vast garden. “You love your nature.”

“Of course I do. Breathe it in,” I say, taking a deep breath, loving how fresh and clean it feels. Cain just gives me an amused look, as if he thinks I’m being silly, “You’re a city boy now, you simply don’t get it.”

“I’ve always been a city boy inside, G. I always hated being out and running around in the dirt with you. I just did it so I could maybe get in your pants one day,” he admits, making me drop my mouth open. I didn’t know that, he always seemed to enjoy whatever I enjoyed, “It took me a long time, but I finally have access to your pants. Young Me would be so proud.”

“You’re lucky you’re cute, or else you’d be super creepy,” I say with a chuckle, Cain playfully pushes me. When we reach Nonna’s place, we find it pretty much empty.
