Memories

I wait until I’m inside the car to call my brother back.

“What took you so fucking long?” he growls as soon as he picks up.

“I’m a busy man,” I lie, but he just makes a sound. A very annoying sound. “I was asleep and then I was busy getting ready for the day… so, what’s up?”

“I want to talk to you. What are you doing today?”

“I’ll be spending the day with Georgie, visiting some of the fated couples that resulted from her ceremony. I might be going to Kallistar at some point… want to meet me somewhere? Not home,” I clarify.

“Yeah. Let me know when you get here and we’ll see,” he says, “Love you, C.”

“Love you too, J. See ya,” I hang up and look out the window.

This is the longest I’ve been in one place since I moved out almost six years ago. It feels suffocating… but it’s also good to be able to see Georgie whenever I want (almost) and see Justin whenever I want, too. It’s really nice.
