25: Guilt

I tore through the Wendigo attacking it. I bit him, punched him, and broke his bones every chance I got. The growling sound from both of us could be heard miles away but he wasn't a match for a lycan prince.

I tore him apart in seconds. The smell of his decayed blood and body filled the air. I quickly shifted into my human part and sped to my mate.

She lay on the dirty ground with her eyes closed and in her blood. Her neck was open and her ankle was bruised. I quickly shook her.

“Claire, “

“Claire,” her silence met my ears. My heart raced when she remained unresponsive. But the lucky thing was she was still breathing as her chest moved up and down.

In haste, I carried her in my arms, bridal way, and mind-linked Casey to meet us outside with a blanket and to call the doctor.

I broke into a run towards my Condo with my unconscious mate in my arms. Casey was pacing outside with the blanket and when we reached him, he threw the blanket over Claire.
