“Come on… tell me,” I urged.

I’m not sure but I think he felt uncomfortable saying it.

“I always thought Cannon would win.”

I raised my brows and looked up to meet his eyes that already cautiously gazing into mine. “Really?” I asked, my face reddening due to another explosion from an emotion I couldn’t understand, especially now that he was looking down at me.

There was this warm feeling about Kane. I recently realized that it had always been there but now it was in full bloom. This warm feeling made me trust him more than I’d liked to. It was reassuring and I felt safe in his arms, my head buried in his chest and my eyes on his.

My instincts never lied but this time it might just be my body reacting the way I wanted to… to what I wanted to be true.
