"Is there any other thing?" Bryson asked seeing Alex was still there after delivering his message."No, sir," Alex replied snapping out of his thought where his focus was on Dede. Alex headed for the exit and Bryson stared at him exiting the rooftop. He did see how Alex was looking at Dede and also read the anger in his eyes which quickly changed to a neutral mood when he asked if there was anything else. Bryson moved his gaze to Dede and could tell from her body language she felt very embarrassed. He bent his knees and rested his hand on her thighs."Hey, you are an adult and you don't have to be embarrassed about things like this," Bryson said and planted a kiss on her forehead and hands before pulling her up with him.The two exited the rooftop and returned to the next floor. They head for the bedroom and Bryson enters his room with Dede. She sat on the couch and Bryson fetched his phone from his bag and saw multiple calls from his mother. He dialled her number and waited for the c
The night passed and Bryson didn't come home.In the morning, Dede woke up from her sleep by the sound of her alarm. Her face looked puffy and her eyes were swollen from crying herself to sleep. She dragged herself out of bed to the bathroom. After taking a shower she dressed up ready for the office. She slept in her room so she didn't know Bryson was still not back. Dede stepped out of her room with no appetite for food. She went out the front door and down to the garage. In the garage, she saw a space between the parked cars. Bryson always has his cars lined up. Even though she had not paid attention to the number of cars Bryson owned, the space between the parked cars was something she didn't expect to see. Alex came downstairs a few minutes later with a frown on his face."Go back upstairs. The boss is not around," Alex said with a deep frown."Is it a break for the company?" Dede asked with no expression."You work directly with the boss. What will you be doing in his absence?" Al
Dede was surprised by Alex's statement. How was it her fault what was happening to Bryson? "Look. I am only trying to help you. You need to leave now before any of the family members see you," Alex warned. Dede turned around shocked to her very bone. She took slow steps towards the exit but heard a familiar voice calling out to her. She turned around to find Melissa. "What are you doing here? Haven't you caused enough trouble? Bryson was doing fine and only visited the hospital for a general health check. Since you showed your face, he has been to the hospital twice. First, you poisoned him and now because of you he went out of his apartment late in the night and had an accident," Melissa accused. Dede couldn't defend herself. She recalled the food poisoning incident in which she blamed herself for not being careful enough but how did she contribute to Bryson stepping out late the previous day? "You have caused enough trouble and I will advise you to stay away from my fiancee.
Bryson left the penthouse for the hospital after his mother invited him over. What convinced him to leave the penthouse was the fact that his mother told him, Melissa had an accident after coming to the penthouse. Seeing his mother at the hospital, and her having nothing important to tell him, he decided to leave the hospital. On his way back to the penthouse, just a 5 km drive away from the hospital, a vehicle crashed into his vehicle. The driver of the vehicle died on the spot and so did the guard sitting next to Bryson. He took most of the impact shielding Bryson. The guard in the co-driver seat, upon seeing what had happened shot himself. He knew what the Adams family would do to him for his failure to protect Bryson. The vehicle Bryson was in had one side mangled. The driver of the other vehicle that crashed into Bryson's vehicle fled the scene before the police and an ambulance arrived at the scene. Bryson was the only one found to be alive after they cut the car to get him out.
It was already late. People were putting on their lights. All the streetlights had been turned on. Alex wondered where Dede could be. He exited the living room and in a few minutes was outside the building. He walked up to the security man at the gate."Hey," he greeted."Have you seen Dede?" Alex asked."No, please. I haven't seen her," replied the security man."Since she left this place in the morning, has she returned?" Alex asked."No," replied the security man."Fuck!" Alex cursed. He recalled the state in which Dede left the hospital. She looked lost. It registered on his mind she may have wandered off after the driver dropped her. He walked through the gate and walked down the pavement heading for the junction. At the junction, the pedestrian walkway goes both ways. Now the question was which one did Dede use? She didn't even have a phone to be called. "Hmmm," Alex growled. How can he go back to the hospital and report he couldn't find Dede? It would be the second time she h
It was fifteen minutes to midnight and Bryson opened his eyes again. He scanned the room and was happy to see Dede sitting on the sofa. No Melisssa, no Janet. They were the two people he didn't want to see as he felt his mother's support for Melissa. "Dede," he called out to her softly and Dede's attention was drawn to Bryson. She was dosing off but hearing Bryson's voice in the quietness of the night she forced her eyes open. "Please come," Bryson said softly, staring at Dede looking at him from the sofa where she sat. Dede stood up from the sofa and walked towards Bryson's bed. She pulled the chair next to the bed closer and sat on it. "How are you?" Bryson asked and Dede was surprised. He had a terrible accident which almost claimed his life and he was rather asking her how she was doing. Shouldn't she be the one asking him that question? She replied to his question anyway. "I am fine. How are you?" Dede asked with genuine concern. "I am good now that you are here. I didn
"Dede, please come," Bryson said as soon as Melissa exited the room. Dede stood up and walked toward Bryson's bed. She sat down and Bryson held her hand in his. "I want you to listen carefully to what about to tell you," Bryson said pulling Dede closer as he spoke in a whisper. "A man will drop a package over at the penthouse today. It is for you. As soon as you receive it, go into my room. Tap on my bed headboard, and a secret safe would open. There is a key inside it. Pick up the key and opened the box inside the first drawer of my bedside table. There is a black card in it and some cash inside. Take any amount you want and leave the penthouse," Bryson said and Dede frowned. "I was asked to take care of you. How do I do that when I am away? And if I leave the penthouse, where do I go?" Dede asked. "I will give you the details but you can't stay here. They will mess you up. I can't protect you like this," Bryson said with concern and Dede nodded. "Good girl," Bryson said and k
"Whatever," Foster said staring at Dede, lying on the sofa with her eyes closed. "If we take the pictures of her in this condition, it would look fake. She needs to be awake," he said. "It would take a while for her to wake up and I don't want her to see me here," Alex said. "What would you do to get her to take her clothes off?" he asked. "Drugged her of course. Whatever is there to do," Foster said sounding like that is something Alex should know. "Remember, do not touch her. If you do I will know and I will put a bullet in between your eyes," Alex warned before leaving the place. He knew what he was doing to Dede was not good but it was either that or Melissa would have her killed. Bryson was in no position to protect her from where he was lying stuck up in the hospital. Outside, Alex stared at the door one last time before leaving the premises. Back at the hospital, Janet strode into the ward, later in the day with her husband, Jacob. Jacob frowned when he didn't see Dede. "W
