Was Thalia bidding her time? This was what I kept asking myself because she still hadn't struck even two weeks after I'd narrowly escaped tragedy. I got my answer on the third day of the third week. Jaden became so busy with pack business and he barely had time for me any longer. Maybe, I was overreacting. After all, I had a knack for exaggeration.

I was sitting with Darryl and Chase on a couch. We were having a random conversation. Initially, it had been just me and Darryl. Chase joined us, later. We were both teasing Darryl because of how whipped he was. He was genuinely fond of Rain, his soulmate. A frown creased Chase's forehead as he rose to his feet, all of a sudden.
