Chapter 6

Eleanor's eyes locked onto Lucas, tears spilling with rapid velocity as she struggled to stand right, her head throbbing and her body felt weak. But none of that matters because she had to find her sons

"What do you mean the twins are missing?" he asked her, his voice laced with confusion. As she watched him drop the fry pan he was holding, gently removing his apron and gesturing for the maids in the kitchen to exit “And why are you up and about”

Eleanor's frustration went high. "Lucas, didn't you hear me? I can't find the kids! They aren't in their room, neither are they anywhere else!" Her voice cracked, and Lucas's face reflected his worry before he walked out of the kitchen, yelling, "James!!"

she watched him scream the butlers name as he assisted her to a sit

The butler rushed in, his footsteps quick and silent, as he bowed slightly. "Where are the kids?" he asked,Eleanor noticed his voice was calm but with a hint of panic, her heart raced as she watched James's face, her mind thinking about the worst-case scenarios that could happen.

“They…they aren't…”James was caught shut by a guard who approached with the kids

Eleanor practically crawled as she knelt to hug them, her eyes bursting with tears at the thought of losing them

“They were both at the garden playing with the nanny, we are sorry for causing an outburst”,the guard bowed his head alongside the nanny in a courtesy apology

Eleanor held unto her children tightly as her cell phone buzzed beside her with a message “I'm watching you” the message said as she disengaged from her kids and they ran to hug Lucas, she stared at the message worry creeping around her

What was she going to do to stop all this?, She thought to herself

Sebastian watched as Lucas's car drove past his, which was heading towards the mansion. He knew he was most certainly not going there to meet Lucas but to see Eleanor, who had been occupying his thoughts.

The car parked, As he strolled into the mansion, the butler blocked his entry

"M Sinclair isn't around at this moment, but whatever message you have, I'll be sure to relay it to master."

Sebastian watched as the butler stood firm at the entrance, his head slightly bowed. Seba smiled, his lips curling up in a gentle curve. "I'll wait for him then."

The butler tried to protest, but Eleanorappeared, her footsteps soft on the marble floor. She nodded to the butler to let him in as she glanced at Sebastian, her eyes lingering for a moment before she walked back inside. Sebastian raced after her, concerned written on his face as he saw the bruise on her body and face.

He grabbed her hand, halting her to a stop as he held her by the shoulder. "What happened to you?" his voice loud, the sound echoing through the walls as the butler who was following behind walked away.

Eleanor dragged him into the dining room, her voice thundering, "What are you doing here?” she said as she slammed the dinner hall shut.

"Answer my question first, Eleanor," he asked, his eyes locked onto hers, his voice laced with concern. "Was it Lucas?"

She moved away abruptly, her countenance changing as Sebastian regretted mentioning

Lucas

"Lucas didn't do this to me " she pointed at the bandage on her head. "I just slipped and fell. Don't you ever think of my husband has a monster. I won't take that."

Sebastian panicked at her defense, his heart shattering as he saw how she was already ready to defend Lucas, he grasping her hand tightly as he gazed at her.

"I'm sorry," he whispered, his voice apologetic. "I was just worried." He knew deep down she couldn't have fallen and sustained that much injury. He had to do something; he had to find out what really happened to her

"I need you to look at me, Eleanor," he held her hand with one hand, his eyes searching hers. "Are you okay?" He noticed her voice was shaky as she replied, "I'm fine, Sebastian."

As he was about to persist, his phone rang, breaking the silence.

“Excuse me, I have to take this call”, His face hardened as he rushed out of the room, standing a few inches from the door to take the call in a haste. "Gotten any lead information yet?" the voice on the other end spoke.

"Not yet. There isn't much to get if you keep calling me without letting me find any appropriate lead," he whispered back.

"Find something, anything. We need one urgently."

"I'II discover something soon, but for now, I need to lay low," the voice replied.

"Lay low from what?" Eleanor's voice jolted

Sebastian from his call, her eyes narrowing as he stepped back in shock. "And what are you discovering, Sebastian?"
