"Brieanna, it- it's not what you--"
And she shut the door closed, finally dropping her surf board and running back to the road. Her chest just feels really heavy as she run. Up at the road, Evie walked towards her, brows crossed.
"Hey! Why are you crying? What's wrong?"
"Let's g-go, Evie. I'll tell you back home."
"No! Face it, Brieanna. What the heck happened?" Evie's hands were holding on both her shoulders, unabling her to move forward.
"Please, Evie... just not now," she pleaded, her lips trembling. "Let's go before he comes after us."
But before they could come close to the scooter, William arrived, grabbing Brieanna's arm. She turns and slap his hand away, telling him to let go. But he would not.
"Please, Brieanna. Listen to me!" he yells. "Give me a freaking moment to explain it!"
"Explain it?" she scoffed, looking sideways. "You are just going turn the situation around! I've seen you do that a lot of times!
William spent the whole night drinking liquors to help him cope with the fear of losing Brieanna and from what had happened. Now, he could barely open his damn eyes, groaning every time he tries. His head is throbbing! He stayed laying on his bed, faced down. There's no need to hurry to work anymore, he's just so done with everything but Brieanna. Now that he thought of her, he regret drinking. He could have used this time to text and call her to come back instead of this hangover. Just a couple of seconds later, he heard his door creaking. What the fuck? Am I damn haunted now in broad daylight? he thought. He tried hard opening his eyes but all he saw was a closed door. He must be just hearing things in his head and so he shut his eyes again. "That's what you get from drinking too much!" That voice had his eyes snapped opened. He jerked his face to the other side and saw Brieanna. He must be seeing things right now! From yesterday's fight, she wouldn
Brieanna's eyes immediately widened. "No! I'm only saying--""You were planning on marrying me," he interrupts her, chuckling softly. "Damn, I feel giddy right now!""No, I was not!""Marry me," he tells her, gazing at her with a bright smile. It almost looks like his eyes are the reflection of the ocean sparkling under the sun, she can't help but stare for a while."No!" she uttered in a low tone, finally looking the other way. "You said we'd go buy supplies.""Changing your embarrassment casually, huh? And yeah, we're headed to the market for fresh meats and everything.""We can't leave Mochi in the car.""Who said we'd leave him here? We'll stop by the resort's guard house and let the guard look after him while we're gone.""Or I can just stay with him while you go buy--""No. You're coming with me."And she rolls her eyes at him. His idea is not bad. For them to naturally pick up where they both left, sh
Finally, the surfing competition day has come to Evie. Early in the morning she warms up, cook herself the best breakfast to fuel her up for this day. After years of not competing, she's finally coming back. It excites her to the bones. The fact that Brieanna will be there to support her, it kind of gives her the obligation to show her little missy how waves are supposed to be ridden. She glances at her wrist watch and it's time to go. Her things are all packed since yesterday for her convenience today. It's quite the mentality she has.Hopping on her scooter, she puts on her helmet-- which she usually doesn't use at all-- and she drives off to the competition venue.Approaching the entrance, she could already see Brieanna waving at her with William. Her face lighted up even more but when she noticed the grin of the other man standing beside Brieanna, her smile faded and replaced with a frown."What's that guy doing here?
The next day after the competition and as long planned, Brieanna, Evie, William and Richard hang out at that special place Evie brought Brieanna the first time they got to know each other. That spot is called cloud nine, from its name, surfing there allows you to ride a stunning experience, remarkably magnificent in any way. Waves there are perfect to get in to since they form tunnels more often than the other places, maybe because of its location. "Not many people come here. Don't know why but they don't," Evie tells them, putting down some of their stuffs on the sand. "Yo, point one! Help me with the damn blanket!" Yes, Evie has not gotten over that point one difference on their scores and so she decided to give Richard that nickname. On the other hand, Richard was not bothered by Evie calling him that, he even said it was unique. After they set up the blanket, they put their things in, their food and drinks. They also brought with them that thi
Early in the morning and Kendal hears loud screaming from downstairs. What the heck is going on? She was busy all night looking for Brieanna like the past few weeks that had passed. With their aunt Mary's voice ringing in her ear, she can't go back to sleep.Groaning, she snapped her eyes open, sitting up. She glances at the time and it says seven twenty six. It wasn't that early like she hoped. As she stands up, she stretches then walk out of her door to downstairs. Her aunt Mary was on the phone, her grandmother was having her tea like most morning. Choosing between an old maid who never married and her grandmother, she went to sit closer to grandma."Good morning, grandma," she greeted, kissing on her grandmother's cheek. Then she glances at her aunt. "Morning, aunt Mary.""Good morning, dear!""How'd you sleep, granny? Better than the other night?""Oh no! I worry about Brieanna. Usually when she leaves she comes back a
As Brieanna was going in for work, she meets Richard at the same spot. But unlike the usual, he was wearing a shirt that has sleeves. Usually he's half naked or wearing a sleeveless shirt. He also smelled like he poured a whole bottle of cologne to him self. Today must be the big date, Brieanna thinks. "My eyes are not used to seeing you in a shirt! And you're wearing sandals!" Yeah she just noticed too. "Yeah," he chuckled. "I thought my slippers needed a rest. So, boom! My sandals are out of the luggage! Any tips for me today?" Tips... she's not sure if she can give tips. Evie is a cool person so maybe she likes cool stuffs? "All I know is she is amazing! She's a chef and she really likes surfing so much. I think the best one is that you should not act arrogant around her," she says, nodding her head slowly. "She really thinks you are arrogant." That made Richard laugh, tossing his head forth and back. "I hope her impressio
Evie's jaw dropped. No! There's no way that her and Richard are going to be neighbors! And that house is her best friend's house! "No way! I know whose house that is!" she yells at him. "You do? It's my brother in law's house. Said I could use it for how long I'd like." "You are Aron's brother in law?" "Yeah, he's my twin sister's husband." And her eyes just widened. That's why she felt like his face is familiar. The photo of Aron's fiancee. Richard just looks like the boy version of that girl! Why? She was having a good day with him! "Are you okay?" he asked. "Yeah. But I need to go inside now." Without looking back she made her way towards her front door. She typed in her passcode and when she was about to turn the doorknob she remembers how Richard has been patient with her today. She looks back and saw him still waiting for her to open the door. "Welcome to the neighborhood and I had fun today." Richard
Two weeks after the surfing competition, the four of them got to hang out at the Cloud nine spot again. The thing is, unlike what Brieanna had expected, Richard and Evie seemed to be distant from each other. It almost looks like something happened with in that day. Did they kiss? "So, where are you staying now, bro? Haven't seen you at the resort," William asked. Sometimes he just doesn't know how to read the atmosphere. "At my brother in law's house. Just across Evie's house," Richard answered. "Eh?" Brieanna and William were shocked. Now that she looks back at when they gave Evie a ride home, Richard was looking around the neighborhood. And brother in law? It would be too much of a coincidence if he is the brother in law of Evie's first love. But when she glances at the two of them, especially at Evie, it is kind of the situation. "Are you serious?" she asked, blinking couple of times. "It just happened that way," Evie muttered, twitching he
