I woke up abruptly feeling my breath being cut off. Kat was practically sprawled over my chest, and Grace's leg was on my abdomen, pressing down as she hugged my leg tightly. I moved Kat aside a bit and tried to lower Grace's leg. Kat lifted her head slightly and opened her eyes, staring at me; I smiled a bit. Her hair was tousled, and her just-awakened face was so lovely.

"Did you sleep well?" I asked her.

She squinted her eyes and lay back on my chest. I looked up at the ceiling and frowned; I was living every man's dream, but in a bad way.

"Your heartbeat is soothing," Kat said sleepily.

I smiled satisfied with what she said; I was on the right track.

"Kat, my head hurts," Grace complained.

Kat moved away from my chest and sat up in bed; she looked at me and then at her friend, who was still clinging to my leg.

"You drank two bottles of tequila; it's a miracle you're alive," Kat replied.

And it was true, Grace drank much more than Kat. Grace let go of my leg and also sat up in bed.
