Hayden rushed towards me and caught up with me in the car; he looked at me, but didn't say anything, and I thanked him from the bottom of my heart for that. I didn't want to talk about the issue; I didn't want to think about it. We both got into the car, and Hayden started driving right away. I leaned back in the seat and closed my eyes for a moment, needing to process what had just happened.

"Are you okay?" Hayden asked me.

I opened my eyes and looked out the car window as he continued driving; I didn't want to look at him, I felt too vulnerable and knew I would cry if I did.

"I'm sorry about what happened, but I think you shouldn't have reacted that way. I don't know what kind of problem you have with your mother, but she needs you, and if she told you it's because she thinks you're strong and can handle it," he said.

I slowly looked at him again; I felt tears welling up in my eyes.

"Do you think I'm a bad daughter?" I asked him.
