Chapter 28

Noah's weak but high-pitched voice sounded from the phone. A young boy identical to Zachary was lying in a hospital bed, looking pallid. He called out to Yvette sweetly.

Yvette's heart melted. "Noah, here's a return kiss."

Noah frowned at her sadly. "Mom, you didn't even call me last night to say goodnight."

Compared to Zachary, who loved to nag at her kindly, Noah was more like the average child. He was very affectionate but also prone to insecurity. Of course, that was just Yvette's opinion.

"I'm sorry, I forgot about it. Here's an apology kiss. Don't be mad, Noah."

Noah had always been sick and had recently been diagnosed with leukemia. So, Yvette was especially attentive toward him.
