CHAPTER FIVE

"Luna, you seemed to be curious about the carvings, weren't you?" That cool and may I say sexy feminine baritone swept across my ears, making my eyes widen like saucers. That taunting and playful tone was not to be mistaken even though it has only been a while since I met that person or thing?

"White wolf?" My jaws dropped.

"Quite the description, don't you think?" She flashed a taunting smile.

"Blake" I corrected myself in embarrassment. Question marks ran amok in my head. Blake right? In Arazona , Blake is definitely a man's name.

"My name? It's a Unisex name" Blake rose her hand in mock surrender.

If anything, I hated how she looked and spoke in an effortlessly taunting manner.

"I didn't say anything" I almost rolled my eyes. Did the werewolves have a power of reading minds too?

"You had it written in your eyes, Luna" She shrugged.

"Ohhh" That was a big hit to my ego. I mean, I always prided myself in being hard to read, even in Arazona, I was being said to be one of the hardest people to read, guess they were lying or I was delusional.

She pointed at the wall, driving my attention back to the carvings. "You were looking at the carvings"

"Yeah, I was" I looked at the wall with curiosity. Truth be told, I was curious about a lot of things. How did they maintain their human nature and their animalistic nature, how did they live? did they have families? When they reproduced, were the babies birthed in their human form or their animal forms; Just everything about their paranormal existence which the humanistic instinct in me found disgusting and unacceptable. I'm not your perfect and all accepting Main lead and therefore I won't lie.

But those questions were not right to voice out, just not yet,not when my fate is still a mystery to me. I was taught that to survive in the palace as royalty, do not ask questions on certain things. There were different ways to find the answer to your question than asking it plainly. The palace has always been a room for scheming.

Curiosity killed the cat, but this one won't kill, so I replied to Blake; "Yeah, the carvings are so vivid and beautiful, even the best artist in my kingdom, he can't match up to this works of the artist who did this."

Blake glanced down at me with eyes that I couldn't fathom. "Luna"

I glanced at her. "Can you call me Hazel?"

"It will be utterly disrespectful to call the Luna by her name" Blake took a step backwards and maintained a respectful pose. It reminded me of the hand maids back at Arazona, though she was nothing like them.

"You may continue your explanation" I calmly said.

"Yes"

"The bigger guy is the great God Zeus, and the other is the son of Pelasgus, Lycaon, our forefather. He is said to have been cursed by Zeus , turning him to a half human-half wolf, and we, his descendants have always believed that though he was cursed by Zeus, he was blessed by the moon goddess who stood to protect him, her favorite godson. We have since then enjoyed the favor of the moon goddess"

That was a lot to take in. "Wow" was all I said. I looked intently t the carvings and they all seemed to make a lot of sense after knowing the basic myth behind their existence. The carvings were just a tale of their evolvement, therefore I made a mental note to study the wall intensely one of the few days I was to spend there. Something's didn't make sense in the carvings and with Blake behind me, I wouldn't be comfortable.

"You will get to know more of our people with time, My Luna" Blake grinned. It was a bookish grin, just then, I saw the shadow of a nerd in her.

That meant I had a little more time to live, I guessed.

"I guess so" I passed her a knowing glance.

"Then, let me take you to your chambers, I'm sure that you must be so uncomfortable in your human dress" Blake glanced down on my heavy wedding gown.

In contrast to her simple raffia clothe interwoven beautifully, my clothe seemed too much, too extravagant, too extra. May I also say that I noticed that the material of their wears from what the Alpha had worn to what I saw Blake wear was entirely different from the one used by Arazona and it's inhabitants. I planned to ask about that later on.

"Heh" I lamely forced a chuckle, more conscious of my suffocating gown, I felt less of a damn bride and more of a lowly intruder.

She led me away from the wall and through a wide and exquisite hallway which I guessed led to my so called chambers. I noticed how scanty the main pack house was which was unlike the royal palace in Arazona which had a large population of servants. I noticed that it was just a room available in the entire floor way at that corner of the house.

I must admit that I had underestimated the Wolf beings. I expected a scattered , disarranged and animalistic home, cavemen instincts and all.

"Here we are" She stopped before the giant doors of the room. It could be noticed that the structure of the door was in such a way that there was a smaller door like opening from which an animal could pass through. I wondered how the Alpha would look in his beastial form.

It made a lot of sense Since they were a hybrid of man and wolf. I understood that they were smart set of being from their architecture which was top notch and their carving skills. It made me more weary and scared for my life.

"The Alpha and the Luna's chambers" Blake stood before the door and ushered me inside.

I glanced at her with skepticism leaking from my eyes.

This is the trap, my prison.

She smiled and for a moment I almost couldn't see past her handsomeness. Her tall figure toward over my relatively average frame. "You are in safe hands, Hazel"

I felt ticklish by her whisper. She looked kind and intrigued at the same time, there was no pity, for the first time I felt more than a Princess. I felt like Hazel. I am Hazel.

I couldn't remember the last time someone called me by my name, even my royal parents didn't call me by my name.

"You are safe here, I assure you, we wouldn't go back on our end of the treaty, and you are now our Luna so we will respect you as such. The moment you begin to trust us and show your loyalty too, you'll see"

I blinked. I didn't believe her, she had an effect on me, I believe but I did not believe her. There was no way a human, their most hated enemy would swagger into their domain and they would accept the human with open arms to rule them.

I didn't say it. I only smiled and got in control of my emotions and actions. This girl was bad for my health, I concluded.

"Thank you then" I said.

Blake distanced herself and kept a formal stance, "your helpers will arrive soon"

She pushed the door open, and ushered me in. I courtesyed and proceeded into the room with caution. "I will leave you now, Luna"

I turned to see Blake take a bow and turn to leave.

I didn't stop her.
