Alpha River in the city.

Evie's POV

Something was wrong with the Alpha.

With the way the man rushed out of the room, I was sure that something was up with him. Even before he ran out, I saw the way his canines were extended as if he saw a prey he would like to feast upon, and his face was concocted into a deep frown when he was lying stop me.

Two contrasting details.

A blush stained my cheek as the memory of what the Alpha and I did replay in my brain. I blame myself for everything that happened. After I ran away from the Alpha, I should have realized that the man was so close to me and that anything I did would get to him. Gosh! Why did I have to moan so loud like that? If only I had kept my mouth shut and all my feelings were bottled up, I wouldn't have fallen for what happened again.

Why did it seem like I had done nothing but fall into the hands of the Alpha ever since the first time I saw him naked in a room when I was sick?
