Back from hell.

Evie's POV

My body ached. It felt like my entire body had been beaten and battered up with how I felt pain in them all. It was even excruciating to think about opening my eyes as the task felt heavy. My body felt like it had been weighted down by a great force or some bricks.

With great effort, I slowly opened my eyes and blinked a few times to adjust to the light. The room where I was in was dimly lit, but I could make out a figure sitting in a chair next to the bed. I blinked several times to make out who was there. No matter how many times I tried, I couldn't tell who it was, though. All I knew was that I recognized the person, but not exactly who it was. The figure lifted their heads, and I was surprised to see that it was Alpha Damon.

"How are you feeling?" He asked, concern etched on his face.

I tried to speak, but my throat felt dry and scratchy. I cleared my throat repeatedly before I mumbled a barely audible, "not good," out.
