Damon's POV

All through the hours the meeting lasted, it was hard to concentrate on it as the thought of leaving Evie alone at the pack where her life was threatened wouldn't stop bugging me. The fact that whoever carried the attack out had even done it at the mansion made it even worst.

The initial plan was to stay for the night in the city once we were done with the meeting, but I found that I couldn't do it. My mind was so fixated on being beside her that staying away was making me go almost insane. I told the men with me that we needed to return to the pack that same night as soon as the meeting was over.

"I can't believe you. We just spent hours inside the boardroom and what? You want us to return to the pack immediately?" The protest in Stephan's voice could be heard by even the deaf.

I thought I was going to lose the battle until Samuel supported me.
