              Rowan kisses me on the temple as he passes out drinks to his brothers while I gesture for Amara and Haley to join me on the tiny kitchen island. “Come and get your drinks, ladies.”

              Nevaeh takes one of the drinks and winks as she settles herself across Mikhail’s lap.

              Amara and Haley reach for the glasses with solemn smiles. I can tell that they’re still unsure of how to approach me.

              Giving them a genuine smile, I lean my elbow on the counter and say. “We need to establish some ground rules if we’re going to be friends again.”
