Chapter 45

Ember was unhappy when she saw how the woman acted, but she was still respectful of Avery’s thoughts. She asked him, “Avery, do you like this doll? Do you want to give it to him?”

Avery instinctively clutched the doll even tighter. He turned his head away, and said coldly, “I don’t want to. I hate those who steal from me the most!”

Ember smiled; she straightened her back, and looked at the woman’s disdainful expression. “Hear that? My son’s not giving.”

The woman looked at them from top to bottom a few times, as if it was the first time that someone refused her. She then grabbed a stack of bills from her wallet, and dangled it in front of Ember.

“Alright, alright. You want money, isn’t that right? The money here is enough to buy a few more similar dolls like this one.”

The smile on Ember’s face didn’t dissipate, and her tone was similarly cold. “I’m sorry, but we’re not selling.”
