Blood

Ash walked to his office only to find Keziah sitting on the guest's couch waiting for him. Shaking his head in anger, he strode to his chair across the table and ignored her.

"Ash, won't you say something?" Keziah's sweet voice came

"It's your majesty for you," he corrected her, "and yes, I have nothing to say to you."

"You, majesty, please, I told you the only reason I rejected you back then was because Larrisa had asked me to. She had said that...

"Enough!" She was cut off. Dropping the hand he had raised to silence her, Ash made it clear to her, "That was then, Keziah, and I have already forgiven you for that. Besides, I know I have a mate. My real mate."

"But.."

"No buts, Keziah," he raised his voice, "and you better get out of here before I do something that will make you regret ever stepping foot in my kingdom!" He warned, a growl pressing in his voice. Silently, Keziah walked out of the office with her head bowed in embarrassment.

After it came to her realization that Ash was a king, she had been trying to settle things between them and have him back because, after all, he was her mate, but to no avail.

When her father, Alpha Kepha, knew about Ash being her mate but she rejected him out of Larrisa's threats, he had been pressuring her to get back with him. Her father was thirsty for royalty, and he kept on saying that if she became her Majesty, he would get to gain the royal image as well.

The palace guard smirked at her, and she scoffed at them, feeling like grabbing their necks and ruining their faces with her claws, but she needed to control her anger. Camila never entertained people who looked down on her workers or dared to hurt them. Her father may end up losing his pack for her mistake.

"Mil," Ash called, a sudden wave of fear washing over him. He touched the white necklace with a red substance present in it to feel Camila's heartbeat, but it was weak.

"Mil," he called in panic, pushing Keziah aside, who fell on the guards and ran to her office. He tried to push the door open, but it seemed like it was locked from inside.

Mil..Mil, are you there?" He called in panic, his voice wavering a little. With a single kick, he broke the door open and ran to the fallen Camila on the cold floor. "Mil, can you hear me? Mil," he called while slapping her cheeks gently.

"Ariana?" He called her assistant, who ran in and screamed in shock. "Call the ambulance, now!" he demanded while carrying her out of the office. By the time he reached the gate, the ambulance was already there, waiting for him.

Mil, please, nothing should happen to you or else," he choked on his own tears. "What happened to her? Doctor, what happened?" He snapped at the doctors, who weren't listening to him but had their heads bowed over Camila and were connecting tubes in her body.

It didn't take long before they reached the hospital, and Camila was wheeled in while he asked you to wait from outside. "Son, we saw the breaking news." His father walked through the corridor, the silver-shining walking stick he was holding shining on his hands.

"I don't want it to happen, dad, but I... I can't feel her pulse," he said while pointing at the necklace dangling on his chest.

"Everything will be okay, son; you need to get a grip on yourself. Could it be the whispers that brought her into this condition?" His father then asked in a whisper. The only person Ash had told about the whispers that had been bothering them since they arrived in the city was his father, because that was the only person he trusted.

Alpha Putin knew about them too because Camila had once gone to him to seek help. It was he who had given them the necklaces he was wearing. Alpha Putin had said that by touching them, they could feel each other's heartbeats and get to know if they were okay or not.

"I don't know, dad. We are still figuring out who these voices belong to, but Camila thinks it's the same people who interfered with our mate bond. They want our child, dad. Do you think he's safe, dad?" He gasped when he remembered their child.

"He's okay, son. The band I tied around Camila's waist will make sure that nothing bad will ever fall on the child." A different voice spoke to him from behind. It was Alpha Putin.

"Grandpa," Ash ran to him for a hug, "how did you know about Camila being here?" He asked.

"It's all over the media, son. Her Majesty was found laying unconscious in her office. That's what they are saying," he said while patting his back to calm him down. "It's high time we dive into these whisperers because I am sure they are the ones behind Camila's sudden fall," he said seriously.

"But from where do we start, grandpa? Do you think we haven't tried to figure all this out?" Ash asked him.

"Leave all this to me and your father, your majesty." Alpha Putin squeezed his hand gently.

"I told you to call me Ash grandpa or son, like you always do, but not your majesty," he complained, causing his dad to chuckle.

"Fine, son, and please, let this remain between the three of us. Camila thinks it's dangerous to dive into these whispers, and another thing is that no one should know about this because Camila thinks the ones behind all this are people who are close to us." He reminded them.

"It's okay, grandpa. You go ahead and take care of this; I will stay here and look after her. I am sure she would call for me after she regains consciousness." Ash agreed with all that Alpha Putin had said. He also wanted to find the person who had been behind their sleepless nights since they walked back to this city.

"Your Majesty," the doctor bowed at Ash. "Her majesty wants to see you," he said with his head still bowed in respect, his silver stethoscope dagling on his neck.

"Is she awake? I'll go see her right away. Ash smiled for the first time since they walked into the hospital. Brushing past the hospital stuff, Ash practically ran to the VIP areas in hope of seeing Camila.

Ash stood outside his door to erase the traces of worry on his face and replace them with a smile. Pushing the door open, he held the roses he was carrying on his front and called, "Mil I.. What the hell?" He screamed in panic while looking at the bed.

Bedsheets were scattered all over the floor as if a fight had just ended. There was blood smeared on the white tiles, and Camila wasn't anywhere in the room.

"Mil," he called in panic, dropping the bouquet of flowers on the ground. He barged into the toilet, but there was more blood. "Mil, no, nothing has happened to you," he said, taking a deep breath and running back to the room to see if she was there.

He looked around to see if there were any traces of blood or anything that would give him a hint as to where Camila was. Looking at the left side of the room, he saw the window was open. Ha ran to it, gripped its rails, and looked down at the ground to see.

"No!" He screamed at the sight he saw.
