Chapter 5

“So far Mr. Henry, you haven’t told us why you went rogue.” Aurthur said to me.

Counselor Authur, if you get called to help investigate a crime committed, would you want the officer in charge to start from the middle,no.

Why? Because he’ll leave out important clues that associate themselves with the case therefore I have to start from the beginning”

“But why, why not just tell us?”

Anthony shouted

I turned my attention to him, “Counselor Anthony you’d like that won’t you.” He remained silent, his eyes burning with anger.

“And the letters, is it time for me to see them yet.” Aurthur asked.

“No, not yet.”

“Ok then please continue with your story.”

I got out of bed and got ready for my trip to the blue lagoon. It's a beautiful pack not too far from us, probably two and a half hours by wolf and about seven by land.

I reported to Alpha and Luna and then left to carry my mate a tub of ice cream along with a box of assorted chocolates, all of which are her favorites.

I stuffed the icecream and chocolate into my travel bag and entered the school compound.

I was greeted by the guard and her class teacher.

I walked to the bench where she’d normally sit with her friends on their break and waved her over. She didn’t hesitate and came running and smiling, her hair bouncing and flowing with the wind.

“Hey, hey. Where are you going? I see you got your travel bag.” She said gripping my hand

“I have to go to the blue lagoon for two weeks.”

“Two weeks you’ll be back for my birthday right?

I was going to make us a family dinner and I want you there when I find my mate.”

“Yeah, how exactly are you going to find him?”

“I was going to stand in the middle of town and wait till he came to me. Even if that takes a whole day.” She said giggling.

“Ok, and yes I’ll be back before your birthday. Just call me if anything and don’t wander off.”

“Yes sir.”

“Ohh this is for you.” I pulled out the ice cream and chocolates and handed them over to her.

“Strawberry, my favorite thank you, thank you.” She said non stop. Then she planted a little kiss on my cheek. If my feet weren't strong I would have melted right there on the floor.

I watched as she ran back over to her friends and I waved her goodbye. As I left the pack grounds and entered the forest area I got a bad feeling.

It’s like my body was telling me not to go. For a moment my feet felt like they were stuck to the floor, I just swallowed hard and went on my travels. I knew with her two brothers around she’d be safe.

It’s been an hour since I've been gone. I could tell by how hot the sun shines. And the watch on my hand told me it was minutes to twelve.

As I continued my journey I started hearing loud footsteps, and they were coming from all over the forest. I stood quietly and let palo take over. ‘Run’

That’s all I heard and that’s all I needed to hear, palo would never tell me to run if he knew I could handle it on my own and that’s one thing I love about our bond.

‘They’re here to kill you, someone sent them to kill you.”

He said to me, as I sat behind a large rock in the forest, I had a mixture of spices and flowers I had gotten from one of my pixie friends.

I took it out quickly and applied it over myself and my bag then I sat there for a little while and waited till my wolf gave me the ok to leave.

As I continued on my journey my mind was moving by the minute, No one knows where I’m headed except Alpha, Luna the brother warriors and my mate. So who the hell sent rogues to kill me.

The forest began to get dark, I couldn’t believe I sat behind that rock for so long. Heck I couldn’t believe they searched the forest for me for so long.

It wasn’t long before I reached the blue lagoon. I could smell their clean clear water running down the stream. ‘One of them is here,’ palo said and I turned and prepared myself for a fight.

I heard a loud thud and I could have sworn the earth shook under me. I used palos eyes to help me see in the dark of the night and I couldn’t believe it when I saw it. This dude was huge, only it wasn’t a dude it was a freaking beast.

That’s the biggest rogue I’ve ever seen and I thought I was strong and well built. I watched as he launched at me and missed the first blow, I stumbled from ducking.

I jumped back to my feet and managed to land a kick to his right knee. I know he felt that. I got a little ahead of myself and he knocked me down with one to the face.

I felt my tooth shake, “hey not in the face, I have family dinner to attend and I need to eat my mates food. How would it look if I went back to her with just gum?” I said dryly

“You're not going back.” He grumbled.

I landed another kick but to his left knee sending him to the floor. ‘Palo’ I shouted instantly, taking my wolf form, biting into his neck and snapping it in half. “ I am going back and with all my teeth.” I spat at him.

“ not if you don’t run you won’t.” Palo said to me.

I heard the sound of heavy footsteps approaching, it sounded like three or four of them, so I picked up my pace and mind-linked warrior Thomas who was on patrol.

“Beta Brandon, we thought you weren’t coming anymore.”

“We have another problem: get your best warriors out here now.”

“Ok what’s the problem.”

“We have a R . O. S on our hands”

“What’s that?”

“Rogues on steroids, keep up man.”

As I approached the blue lagoon I saw the warriors heading my way about twenty of them, I stopped in my tracks as I was ready to fight. I had back up and I’m pumped.

We all stood there together and waited but we were just greeted by red eyes as they stared through the forest trees. It was weird though I thought I was having a deja vu moment because those eyes I saw before on my pack grounds.

We slowly retreated and I headed in to see Alpha Kane. Alpha Kane is young, he's twenty years old he’d taken over when he was the age of fifteen and he’s been doing a great job ever since. His mother and father sadly died at the hands of human hunters.

“Alpha Kane I was sent, by my Alpha.” I bow my head I respect

“Ahh beta Brandon it’s nice to see you here in one piece.”

“Thank you, it’s nice to see you too.”

“I assume you’d like to see the young omega wolf.”

“Yes I'd like to, can we go now?”

“We can but why don’t you change first.”

I took a shower and quickly headed to the infirmary where the young omega wolf stayed.

I started asking her questions about herself,

What she likes to do for fun, her favorite food, things like that just to get her relaxed.

Then the doctor came in and brought her chart and it said that she suffered the same way the others at our pack did. Rap*ed and smelled of expensive perfume along with the scar on her face.

She’s a pretty little thing just like the others. When I looked at the date of the attack, it was the date that I’d left blue lagoon. A couple weeks ago I came with Alpha James for him and alpha Kane to run their ideas by each other for the annual finding your mate ball. But I had to leave because Luna needed my help back at home, Alpha James came home three days later.

I walked over to the bed where the young she wolf was sitting and sat next to her. I could tell she was inhaling my scent. And when she was comfortable enough she turned to my direction.

“I’m Emily.”

“And I’m Beta Brandon from blood moon pack.”

“Bloo… moon pack, get away, get away from me.

You're the devil's advocate he sent you didn’t he, he told me if I talked, someone would come get me. Ple…….”

Heavy breathing.”

“Doc, get in here right now.”

The doctor and two nurses ran inside quickly, they tried to revive Emily but it was too late. She had already died from a heart attack.

I dropped to the chair next to me and looked as they removed her dead body from the room, her words rang in my ear, who is this guy and what those he have in common with Blood Moon pack.

And most importantly how did he commit such crimes at one of the biggest packs in the world without anyone seeing.
