“So she asked you to do that?” I asked surprisingly. “Thank you, we’ll come get it later in the day.” I hung up the call.

A few weeks had passed and the hospital called to inform me that the DNA test was ready. I was finally going to know if I was really the father of Valerie’s baby.

I did my normal morning routine of checking up on my mum and sisters. I needed to know how my mum was feeling and made sure she took her medications.
