I was disappointed. I wouldn’t lie my mum was a pain in the ass, but I felt we had made progress yet she was still being difficult. She couldn’t wait to hear if I had an explanation or something.

I took a deep breath before calling her number again. “When are you ever going to change?” I asked angrily as she picked up the call.

“I’m not the one who abandoned my child during the holiday.” She gave me a snide reply.

“You have no idea what you’re talking about. You didn’t even care to ask why I didn’t show up or didn’t pick up my calls.” I snapped.

“Do not raise your voice when speaking to me, Vanessa.” She hissed.

I was still weak from everything that had happened. I didn’t have the energy to continue arguing with her. “Please put Liam on the phone, I need to speak with him.”

She scoffed. “Liam isn’t here. He’s out having fun?”
