After dropping Nessa at the trade fair, I went straight to Damon’s house to see him. Normally, his gatekeeper would open the gate immediately after he recognized my cars but they kept me waiting.

I instructed one of my men to go and check what was wrong. He came back after a few minutes and told me they said Damon wasn’t in.

I knew it was a lie, Damon was either at my place, his office, or his house. And it was too early for him to be at the office.

I sent the man back to call the gatekeeper.

“What’s the problem? Open this gate if you don’t want to lose your job.” My threat was a failed attempt because he didn’t budge.

I decided to call Damon instead. “You told your guards not to let me in?” I asked when he picked up the call. I wasn’t even expecting him to pick but luckily for me, he did.

“Yes, I did.” He responded nonchalantly.

“Why?”

He hesitated for a while, then finally spoke. “You already know the reason. End things with Nessa first.”
