Chapter Forty Six

I felt a little bit weak and struggled to open my eyes. They finally fluttered open and the first thing I saw was an unfamiliar ceiling. The last thing I remembered was a man pointing a gun at me and someone else coming to save me.

I helped myself and sat up on the bed. I looked at the left corner to see Vito sleeping on a couch. I tried to make sense of what had happened. My knee and body didn’t hurt anymore. I felt a little bit better.

“Vito. Vito.” I called his name severally.

He jumped up immediately and came to the bed. “Nessa. How are you feeling?” He asked, placing his hand on my forehead to feel my temperature.

“I feel a little bit better. What happened? Who were those people?” I wanted to know who the people were and why they decided to take me.

“It was the Farina brothers.” He sat at the edge of the bed.
