Chapter 25

Abigail's dad p. O. V;

Dad, "How many days are you going to be like this, Abby?"

She didn't respond and laid on the bed like a log.

I sat beside her and said while caressing her hair, "You haven't come out of your room all day. You aren't eating much either."

Seeing her being like this hurts me a lot. Even though I did so much for her, I couldn't make her forget her mom's death. I know it's a terrible thing for a ten year old girl to see her mother dying in front of her but I don't know how to make her forget about it. I was sitting beside her, rubbing her back softly. I had stopped asking after a while, and we sat in silence until finally I sighed and said, "Well, I've got some work to do so I guess I'll leave you alone for now."

After she nodded, I stood up from the bed and began heading towards the door. Before I turned to walk out of the room though, I paused and looked back at her and said. "Just remember to eat, okay? You're not getting any younger." And walked out of her room.
