Chapter Eighteen: Unexpected

The elevator which led Minah back to the sixteenth floor finally opened. Minah drew a deep sigh as she stepped out of the elevator car. She marched towards Martina's cubicle, Juan Miguel's secretary, still thinking about Tobias.

Minah was forced to toughen up since she was a child. She knew Leigh needed someone to protect her so she took the responsibility for her sister's sake. If she won't take charge, then who else will?

She didn’t need anyone to fight for her, even her biological father was absent when she needed him. She survived without anyone standing for her, now she couldn't understand what was wrong. She expected Tobias to punch and punish the guy who assaulted her. It was absurd feeling disappointed by Tobias' inaction.
