Jas' POV

By the time the kids are done with their food, I see Annie making her way down the stairs. She yawns as she scratches her head. I smile as Lilly notices her and runs to her. I'm sure that Jord and Jenny are still busy upstairs. I hope he locked the door to be sure that Annie doesn't get traumatized again.

I get my answer as soon as Annie makes her way to the table. "The weirdest thing... the bathroom door was locked when I went to go potty. I used the spare upstairs. Do I want to know why it was locked, Jas?"

I smirk as I go up to her and give her a hug. "Nah, just don't worry about it. You feeling better today?"

She shakes off the anxiety and looks me in the eyes as she says, "Yeah, a bit. It feels like I lifted a heavy winter coat off my shoulders last night and just left it there on the floor."
