In no time, the hour of their departure arrived. And in order to avoid displaying emotions such as hatred and anger, Zara made sure to give herself a nice speech about being a good-mannered half-fairy.

She was already reminding herself that Alpha Darren would never be called her mate when Lord Elias’s voice interrupted her.

“Are you ready?” Lord Elias asked as the long-robed, heavily-hooded individual beside him started creating a huge ball of portal. “Once you get there, you can ask the dragon to create a return portal.”

“Is there anything else we should know?” Alpha Darren asked, his backpack sturdily strapped to his back. His bag was so big that Zara wondered what was inside it.

“I think I have said everything necessary,” Lord Elias replied. Then he faced Sham who was struggling with the belt around his hard trousers. “Gamma Sham, you are the King’s guard, you know what to do.”

“I am aware of my duties, Lord Elias. There is no need to be unduly concerned.”
