Holly didn't care if Famine came after her or not. She turned the idea over and over in her mind like a puzzle cube. If she trusted him, everything could fall apart. Famine had reminded her of one thing, his father was the prince of lies. She got to Ruby's side and relief washed over her, a tangible sense of it as she dropped to her knees. Ruby was up, leaning against Dagon, but up. Ruby smiled as she noticed her. "Hey," she greeted with a weak wave.

Angel nodded to her as she got Quix to a spot. "Huh, that's interesting," he walked closer to the reaper. "He's not the normal type," he announced. He turned his attention to Atropos and scowled. "What are you doing here?""I've already gone through that with Tydeus, you two really need to stop with all the instant Fate hating. I'm on your side you know."Angel snorted. "I doubt that. You guys are the one that forced her into this in the first place."

Holly told herself that the reason she followed Eros back was that she worried about him. She worried about Quix as well and Ruby, but right now she had to make sure that Eros was taken care of. She's almost lost him, forever.And why? Because of a decision her soul's ancestors had made ages ago that had nothing to do with her. She really hated the gods."I can hear you back there." Eros glanced back at her over his shoulder. The usual sparkle in his eyes was dim. "You can stop following me. I'm fine."

The walls closed in on her, and Holly stared straight into those oh-so-very-red-eyes of Lucifer. "I can't do that," she whispered. All she could think about was having a tryst with this man, no this devil. And doing that would not be worth giving up everything else. These couldn't be her thoughts. "This is the fastest way for me to consume that soul of yours, the one that keeps bringing you problems. It will be stripped away like flesh from bone."The hairs on Holly's arms rose at the words. Just the idea of what he was saying sent a shiver through her and she backed up on the bed. There was nowhere to run here.

"Willow?" Holly parroted. "You're-""A vampire?" Willow nodded. "I am. It is a choice that I made, not one forced upon me.""But why?" Holly demanded. "Didn't you like being a human?"Willow snorted. "The majority of my human life was nothing but pain and torture. The best time I had in my life was once I gave myself over to becoming a being that could not be used so readily anymore.
