The cold water in the shower helped Audrey felt relieved. She dressed herself up and sat in front of the vanity mirror inside the walk-in closet. Like the heavy sentiment inside her chest was gone and was replaced with soothing warmth. She was stunned to see Shane leaning on the wall a meter away from the entrance and the first thing she thought about why he was there was because he was waiting for her. She pretended not to see him, not wanting to assume that he was really there waiting, or she would only feed her heart’s desire with more lies. Audrey was wiping her face with a hand towel when someone knocked on the door. Confusion spread all over her face. She hadn’t left the bathroom since the housekeeper went down to get her dinner. Shrugging, she took a peek outside. “The door’s open, get inside.” Audrey waited for any response but there was nothing. She went back to wiping her face, well, she was crying so hard earlier that she could barely recognize herself when she looked in a mirror. So instead of dwelling too much over her broken heart for the nth time, she decided to take some time cleaning her face. She applied some facial wash cream to hide the fact that she cried. Her jaw dropped. Audrey couldn’t be mistaken from what she heard. Shane said it clearly without lowering his voice or anything to creep her out but it was creepy. Nah, she wasn’t calling his voice creepy instead she found it charmingly sexy BUT, yeah- there was an exaggerated ‘but’ and she wanted her mind to sync with her reaction this time… what he told her was far from what she expected to hear. ‘... You’ll start working as my assistant today…’ His words were repeatedly played inside her head. He only said it once, but she seemed to have heard it for a hundred times already and her mind just won’t stop playing it for her. She wasn’t sure if it was to remind her or to intentionally tease her though one thing was certain; she didn’t like what he said. 

The radiant sun was once again exhibiting its power, casting its light in most parts of the world- illuminating the day and at the same time, providing its warmth to every living or dead creatures on earth. The mellow song played by the stereo inside the car was also warm and soothing just like the sunshine in the morning. Nathan initially turned on the stereo since no one other than himself wanted to start a small conversation to alleviate the growing tension between the two particular people who did nothing but glare at each other whenever since they got in his car. He was even not sure why he was suddenly dragged into the messy private life of the couple he was driving for. He could only take a few glances of the man sitting on the backseat through the rearview mirror. And on his side was a pretty lady, pouting with her brows furrowed.
