Tammy: I'd just awakened from my nap in Damon's room. It was the only thing I'd been doing for the past week. I rubbed my eyes gently to get rid of my sleepy haze. My gaze landed on the book I'd borrowed from Stella that I'd been reading before I slept off. It was a romance novel. I contemplated continuing from where I stopped but my stomach rumbled at that instant and the will to proceed was lost.

We were just about to have dinner when the doorbell rang. Tammy was going to get it but I grabbed her arm."Don't".She gave me a baffled look that said *

Tammy: As I made my way to Damon's study, I contemplated different ways of informing him of my new plans. Standing by the door, I took a deep breath to calm myself before daring to knock. 

Tammy:Damon marched out of the restaurant and dumped me into the car. He got in after me and ordered Smith to drive in a cold voice. Throughout the drive, I clung to the corner of my seat, occasionally glancing at Damon. He was looking out the window with clenched jaw and palms balled into fists. The car was dead silent with the exception of my heart thudding wildly. 

Tammy:The car was deadly quiet as Damon drove to the town where the orphanage was located. The private investigator he'd hired included the location of the orphanage and its name.
