Chapter 141: The CFO's Scandal
The next day, as usual, I went to Juicy Punch to get myself a cup of fruit juice, and also to take a look at Daniella, reminding myself of the fact that I am fond of Daniella, not Jamie. After I arrived at the office, I spent the whole morning in Jamie’s office, working at the coffee table next to the window. The time is almost lunch time when somebody suddenly knocks on the door. Jamie remains his eyes on his documents when he mentions, “Come in.” Soon after Jamie answered, the door opened. There, Mila walks into the office with a phone in her hands. She gives me an awkward smile as she proceeds to Jamie’s table. “Good morning

Chapter 142: Get A Room
A few seconds later, Justin finally answers the call. “J-Justin.” by his name I called. “Henrietta, how rare it is for you to use Jamie’s intercom.” in an instant, Justin recognized my voice. He then asks chuckling, “What is it? Are you requesting more excitement from me?” I frown, I warn with my tune lowered, “Stop making jokes… Jamie asked for your presence in his office.” and secretly, I whisper to him, sending him a signal, “Quickly come and save me.” As soon as Justin hears me, his voice turns more serious as he asks, “Are you in trouble?”

Chapter 143: Too Deep In The Quagmire
After Justin and I left Jamie’s office, we proceeded to the basement carpark and got in his Bentley directly. We drove out of the office building immediately to make our horrible lie convincing. While we saw Melonie on our way out. It reminds me of the person Justin and I saw when we came out of the pantry yesterday. Mila said the video clip was sent via email anonymously; clearly the video was taken from the outside of the pantry, and the only person we saw when we came out was her——Melonie Myers. Could she be the one who recorded the video and sent it to the HR department? Yes, it could be, or I’ll even say it must be her, but why? We didn’t even know her until yesterday, why did she

Chapter 144: Just So Drunk
It’s Jamie. He is calling Henry Nosrevi. I let my eyes remain on the phone screen for quite a while, yet my sight gradually loses focus due to the alcohol. Although I am still a little angry about him deciding to accept Dylan Watkins as his potential marriage partner… I think I should answer it, shouldn’t I? I don’t know why, but I want to hear his voice now, so badly. Without trying to figure out the reason for this call, I swipe the green button and pick the phone up. “Hello…” As I answered, I realized my voice sounded so ebrirated. Although it might be

Chapter 145: Big Fat Cow
The next morning, right after I bought my juice from Daniella at Juicy Punch, I went straight to Coffee Bloom to get Jamie his favorite breakfast——grape wine lamb and porcini lasagna with a cup of ristretto. Although it’s always the same, I still hope he likes the breakfast I bought for him. Even if I am not looking into a mirror, I know I’ve let a broad grin appear on my face. I bet I look like a little girl who just bought a chocolate for a senior she admires. But who cares, I ain’t going to deny that anyway. However, just as I am walking back to the company building, a scene happening in front of the main entrance causes me to stop my step. Ther

Chapter 146: Present For The Man
Sun rises up high by the time we are about to go out for lunch. I was ordered to move the car from the basement to the main entrance and wait for Jamie who was caught by a sudden phone call. I am supposed to be inside the car enjoying the air-conditioned indoor environment by now, however, instead of that, I am bending my waist looking into the drain cover next to the car’s tyre. I place one hand holding my long wavy hair to the back to avoid them from veiling my sight as I look down, and another holding a piece of used tissue paper containing bird poo in it. Just a few seconds earlier, before I decided to get down from the car, a crow stopped by and pooped. Its poo dropped and streamed down all the way down the windshield.

Chapter 147: First Kiss
That night, after I styled my hair, put on a white T-shirt, a navy blue blazer and trousers, and a pair of brown leather shoes, I drove a red Lexus LS 500 and set off for Jamie’s place. Victor’s friend rented me a red Lexus LS 500 when I went on the last date with Jamie in New York City. I fell in love with the car, and so I bought the same model in the same color. I hope it helps Jamie to recognize me when I arrive. After a few minutes of travel, I finally arrived at Jamie’s place. As instructed by his butler, I stopped the car next to the fountain, just right in front of the main entrance of Peyton Mansion. The sky has completely turned dark, the orange lights around the mansion are lightened up. The water in the fountain reflects the lights as it splashe

Chapter 148: I'm In Love, and Gay
That night after we went to the light art exhibition, I sent Jamie back to his place. We stand in front of the fountain as we greet each other. “Thank you for this lovely night, Henry.” said Jamie, giving me a kiss on the lips, “Goodnight.” I can’t help but let a smile appear on my face. Gently, I caress his face with my fingers, “Goodnight.” With a sweet smile, he turns around and walks towards the door, my hand slips down his arm and palm. He turns back to me and gives me one last smile before he walks into the door. ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨&um

Chapter 149: Trying-Kiss
The next day, although it is Saturday, I have to be at Minerva because Jamie has a meeting to attend. But first thing first, I visited Juicy Punch and met Daniella. Before I order my juice and leave the queue, I mention to her, “Danny, I have a question for you.” “What is it, Henrietta?” Daniella puts up a bright smile for me, “You can ask me any question! We are best friends right?” Best friend, right, about that… Your best friend is trying to ask, “Do you have a boyfriend, Danny?” Last night after Victor and I found out that I am certainly in love with Jamie, Victor proposed a solution for me—&m

Chapter 150: Miss You × Hate You
That afternoon, although I did not remind Jamie anything about having lunch with Dylan Watkins, he remembered it. Dylan Watkins picked Jamie up from Minerva and set off for lunch. His huge empty office makes me feel lonelier than I already am. And so, as rare as it sounds, I walk out of the office and return to my own desk. On my seat, I take a box out of my handbag and open it. It is the necktie and the tie bar Jamie gave me. I pout as I look at them, soreness surges up my nasal passage in an instant. “I am sitting alone here missing you, yet you are happily having lunch with the other guy out there… I hate you.” As I hear my voice turning whinny, tears trickle down my cheek.
