Chapter 20: It’s the end of the world as we know it
Lucifer              I shoot up from my perch with a gasp and open my eyes as I search frantically for my mate. “Lana!” I call out.              Unfortunately, all I see is the destruction of my house. A chandelier hangs precariously from the ceiling, furniture is turned over or broken, and all of my windows are shattered. My once gleaming hardwood floors are cracked and broken.              Michael and Rafael stop beside me and give me grim frowns.              “Where the bloody hell is she?” I ask.              Michael shakes his head, “I don’t know, frère; she flashed out of the

Chapter 21: Here we are
Lana/ Apolliana                           My sisters and I stand on the cavern's edge located above a bast void that drops several thousand feet. Within the void is The Creator’s sacred stone covering the sacred seal. We hold our mates’ blood in a vile as The Creator adds his power and brings us one step closer to unleashing destruction into the world.              Power radiates through the cavernous room, vibrating against the high ceilings. It’s so thick that you can almost touch it. Shadows flicker around the darkened chamber's sandstone surface, creating eerie figures across the rocky ceiling and earthy ground. Our voices echo through the vast openings that stream like veins creating an underground labyrinth that leads to yawning voids, cracks a

Chapter 22: Make or Break
Lucifer              Lana’s form wavers before me as she watches her sister begin to plummet. I try to reach Fallon and Bree, but The Creator pulls them away.              To my surprise, Lana catches Bree before she could fall and flies her to a safer spot. I don’t know what made her save Bree, but I don’t question it as I stab at the Creator’s talon and manage to seize Fallon from his hold. “Fallon,” I call to him as I desperately try to heal his wound. “I'm fine…” he sputters weakly as blood pours from his lips, “…he missed my heart.”              Flying down, I set him next to Bree and turn to a confused Lana. Her body sways as she looks around with horror, “What have I done?” sh

Chapter 23: To Pass
Lana               As soon as I move closer to the mele, my sisters halt their fighting and face me.               “Stop, sisters! What we’re doing is wrong!” I call out pleadingly.               “Traitor!” Death calls out as she launches herself toward me.                We both collide in a clash of power. The others try to attack the men as they fight The Creator, but I circumvent them before they intervene.                My sisters are strong, but I wield the ultimate power. When one slashes at my back, I roll away, barely avoiding her, skewering my spine. Unfortunately, she does manage to do some damage, but

Chapter 24: Perfect beginning
Lucifer              “No!” I cry out as I watch the love of my life stab herself in the heart and plunge into The Creator’s seal. Despair fills me as I rush to the chasm, but I know I will not get there in time. Bursts of light erupt around me, nearly blinding me as The Creator shatters to pieces like broken glass and is sucked into the void.              I don’t care what happens after that as the power gets sucked back into the abyss. I follow the current of power as it drains, but I don’t see Lana anywhere. Within seconds the power sizzles out, and all that is left is darkness. “Lana!” I call out helplessly, “Lana, I’m here!”              Unfortunately, the only sound that I hear is my voice echoing back t

Chapter 25: Good News
Lana              I grip Lucifer’s hand tightly as we stand outside my sister’s home. Lucifer told me that since my death, Bree and Azazel have frequently been stopping in to check on Bree.              My heart beat’s wildly in my chest; I ring the doorbell and tap my foot as I wait for the door to open. Fallon opens the door with a smile that quickly turns to shocks when he sees me. “Lana?” he blinks fast as if he thinks he might be seeing things.              “We can explain everything once you let us in?” Lucifer snickers.              Fallon opens the door wide and gestures for us to walk in.        &nb

Chapter 26: Thoughts
Lucifer               “I’m sorry, Gabriel, but I don’t remember much about my sisters. Even in my visions, their faces were obscured by shadows. I don’t even know their human names. I just referred to them by their horsemen names. All I can tell you is that they were close to my age. The other had brown hair and oddly shaded eyes, and the other had red hair. The only thing they had in common is that they all seemed to be frightened of someone who wanted to hurt them. I don’t remember anything else. I’m sorry,”               Michael sits forward in his seat and places his elbows on his knees thoughtfully. “We understand, chérie.”               Rafael looks intently into the fireplace and frowns, “Perhaps we can speak to a witch. There might be a spell that can help us

Chapter 27: Epilogue
Lana              I walk up the podium and accept my diploma with a happy grin before turning and facing my cheering family. Lucifer claps loudly while my crazy sister and Zoe jump up and down gleefully. Azazel and Fallon give them women a horrified look when their women start chanting my name. I love both women, but sometimes they can be so embarrassing.              Over the past months, so much has happened.              As Lucifer and I agreed, I went back to the Grand Canyon and finished my research with my team. They were none the wiser of what happened after I disappeared. Somehow, Michael made it, so the project was extended until I gathered all of the information that I needed.Bree was happy when I told her that I was moving in with Lucifer. His house

Chapter 28: Epilogue
Lucifer              Fallon, my brothers Gabriel and Michael stand by me at the altar while Rafael prepares to officiate my wedding. Looking back, I adjust my tuxedo jacket and look onto our guests. At first, my brothers thought I was mad when I decided to propose to Lana, considering we’re already soulmates and we’re angels, but after I explained that I wanted her to be recognized as mine under every law, they relented.              Lana and I decided to have a small ceremony in our home. We hired a planner who set up a wedding arch covered in sheer drapes and colorful flowers. The warm ocean breeze is gentle, and the platform we set up to seat our desks and the altar keeps the sand off our shoes.              The wooden chairs are spaced out around the p
