Chapter Sixty Three
The walk to the royal dining room felt like a walk of death to Elena. She held onto her tray tightly, following other maids as they headed to the room. Once they reached, Elena was greeted by a long table. She wondered if Firoza was joining them and who else was because the table was too big for just the royal family. Before Calhoun had returned, his parents ate at a much smaller table. Now that she thought of it, perhaps he was having a royal meeting. Hopefully, he would be too busy to notice her there. She took a stand by the side of the table, where all the maids stood as they waited for the table's occupants. Elena could feel her legs shaking. She didn't know why she was afraid. Wasn't it better if she knew what Calhoun's response to her might be and got it over with? Taking a deep breath, she tried to calm herself, then silently waited for the room's occupants. The first guests to walk in were some of the king's advisers. Elena had seen them when Calhoun's father he

Calhoun stared down at his love, his heart finally content. He gently dragged his hands through her hair, watching her look at him. He wished they could remain like that forever. He would be content. "We have a lot to talk about, you know," Elena said, dragging her hands down his arms. Calhoun sighed contentedly at the action, snuggling closer to Elena. He buried his head under her head, directly on her chest. "Yes, we do. Where do you want us to start from?" He asked softly. "The obvious?" Elena answered, chuckling. "The fact that I have a close relationship with the blood king should be a reason to start talking." Calhoun sighed. "I didn't mean to hide it from you, Elena. But any time I brought up the Blood king, you always responded badly. I didn't think that you liked the king, so I kept quiet. I planned on telling you my real identity probably when I have finally proven to you that the Blood King wasn't a bad man." "And how did you plan to prove it to me

Calhoun looked at Elena, a bit confused. "Where you are from doesn't change anything for me, love. You might be the daughter of a killer and I would still love you." "That's the thing," Elena replied, dragging her hands across her hair. "I am the daughter of a killer." Calhoun faced Elena intensely, a worried look overtaking his face, but he remained quiet. "You asked me why I never wanted to talk of the blood king? Well, it's because of my father. My father wanted to send me to you as a peace offering." "A peace offering?" Calhoun said, confused. "Yeah. His wife, my stepmother wanted to get rid of me. Rumours had it that whoever entered your kingdom can never get out..." "That's not a lie," Calhoun hummed. "And so she sort to send me to you as a bride, more so for the fact that I wouldn't be able to escape once I entered your kingdom. Before I knew you, I thought you were a masochist, blood loving, demon." "Ouch," Calhoun said, pouting. Elena

The men passed wary glances among themselves. "What do you mean, my lady?" "I love my fiancee," Firoza said, smiling as she began her little pace around the room. "So obviously, I would do anything to make sure that he doesn't make a mistake. Any mistake he makes would affect me." She paused in front of a small table by the side of the room. A small flower vase was on it. "And besides, don't forget that I am royalty." She caressed the flower petals between her fingers and then turned to face him. "I am getting married to the blood king; you don't think that I would possibly be an ordinary woman, do you? I am just as powerful as my husband. Perhaps even a bit more powerful." She smiled evilly. "I can prove it to you, and now if you will." The men turned to face themselves again. "Just how exactly would you prove it to us?" One of them asked. "I only need a volunteer," Firoza replied, raising her index finger. The silence hung heavy in the room till

Svetlana and her father headed towards the king's study. They weren't surprised to see the king and his son, Wazir, waiting for them along with her partner. Svetlana gave one worried look to her father before facing her audience. "Svetlana." The king started, his face not betraying any emotion. "Your partner here says you have something for us." Svetlana nodded. "I have vital information, my king." "Please, go ahead and tell us." "Yes my Lord." She said, bowing slightly. "When I scoured through the halls of the palace, I did well to keep my ears to the ground. I noticed some changes that weren't there the first time I had gone to the castle when I went to get information for you." Understanding what she meant, the king nodded his head, signaling her to continue. "The first time I went there, the people all treated their king with awe, reverence and happiness. Now, there is a sense of restlessness and fear in the castle. The people fear most especially, th

Laughter, lovely bright colors, pale skin, smiles. A woman's hand. Her caress. Her body. Her gown was carried softly by the wind. Her feet were beautiful against the soft green grass. Her eyes were pale grey yet twinkling with mischief. Her laughter. "Come, your majesty." Her soft voice called out, her pale hand reaching towards him. He took it, held unto it. He noticed how smooth and soft her skin was against his roughened one. He saw the daintiness it carried in its slender fingers. He felt the joy at that simple act of taking her hand. His heartbeat was faster than average, his blood rushing to his brain. He loved her. "My king, please hurry up!" the voice said again, now carrying a sense of amusement with it. He followed her. Felt his feet against soft grass. He was dragged by her little hand, and he wondered how such a small hand could pull one as big as he was. They paused their walk, but he didn't notice their environment, only the grey eyes that were

The door opened in front of Wazir, revealing eyes that were huge, innocent, suspicious, and, more importantly, scared. "May I help you?" The maid asked, still keeping to the door, not opening it any wider. Wazir flashed a smile at her, hoping to make her comfortable. "You might not have noticed me before," he said, trying for a fake blush. "But I work here." The maid's eyes widened, understanding flashing through her eyes. "You are right. I have never seen you before." "I hardly make myself seen." They stood there for a while, an uncomfortable silence covering them both. "See, I have something to tell you." He said, his face serious. He looked around, ensuring no one was there to eavesdrop on them. "Something important." "Why me?" the maid asked, her face scrunched in confusion. "Because I overheard your discussion." Wazir replied, bringing his voice to a whisper. Looking around one final time, he leaned closer to her. "I have the drea
