Kyra- Why had I thought going to school was a good idea? By the end of the day, I was mentally drained. I had no trouble with any of the assignments, or at least I didn’t think I did. Hunter had walked me to the first three classes until Mel offered to take me instead. I was relieved, I didn’t like the way everyone kept making smug comments about me being the Alpha’s plaything. I had wanted to rip their tongue out. After my second class, a group of girls had made some snide remarks about how I’m the only female living at the packhouse and all the guys most likely take turns with me. I had literally growled at them and if it wasn’t for Hunter dragging me away, I probably would have done a lot worse. He had told me to not listen to them and he would address it, but I didn’t want him defending me, it would probably just get worse if he did. So, when Mel took over walking me around, I appreciated the reprieve. I still heard the whispers, but it wasn’t abo

Chapter Eleven
Kyra- Alexia and I were elated to be going head-to-head with both the Alpha and the Beta. Even if we could tell they were holding back, I was finally getting a workout. Neither of them gave me the kind of challenge I wanted, but they were keeping me on my toes. I was starting to feel my endurance waver. I could tell from each attack they both held back their punches. Both smiling and laughing as they advanced on me. Wanting them to take it seriously, I knew I had to give them more. I was holding back as well. I hadn’t used the full extent of my abilities. This time when they attacked, I focused all my energy in my palms and heaved my arms out in front of me, hitting both guys directly in the center of their chest. The look of disbelief was evident on their faces as they flew backward, soaring through the air. I had discovered at a young age that I could focus my energy to make my attacks more effective. I even possessed magic but had no idea how to in

Kyra- As we sat in his office, I thought maybe this wasn’t a good idea. I was nervous and kept fidgeting with my hands. Even Alexia was feeling apprehensive about telling him. Though we knew we had to and after his reaction on the field. We both recognized he wasn’t like the others. Then there was the fact that there was so much more I didn’t even know about myself, and I didn’t know where to even start looking. I needed to ask for his help. Or I needed to leave to figure it out on my own. Though the notion of going at it on my own terrified me. I’ve concluded that what my father had told me was limited. If someone was chasing me, I needed to know who and why. I needed to know why I was different. To know why I have been hearing a female voice in my head that wasn’t my own or Alexia’s. I needed to learn more about my abilities. I couldn’t just wait around for something to happen anymore. If I was truly safe here, then I needed answers and perhaps even

Kyra- I felt better now that I had opened up to him. It was as if a weight had been lifted from me. For the first time in years, I was going to give my trust to someone. Perhaps not my complete trust, but it was a start. No idea what the future held, but for one thing I knew, I was going to start getting answers. We continued to talk for a few more hours as I told him more about my past than I remembered. Something was gnawing at me though and I wasn’t sure what it was. Hunter had brought Caleb in to inform him he would now be taking overtraining for the pack and he would start working with me privately. Caleb hadn’t been too thrilled about it, but he agreed. Hunter told Caleb he would find him later and then dismissed him. I was truly looking forward to training with Hunter. He told me he would contact his uncle to see if he knew about a way to explore my abilities. Honestly, I wasn’t sure how I felt about another knowing about me, but if it would help, I wa

Kyra- Lurching up into a sitting position on the bed, a gasp escaped my lips. My heart felt like it was beating a hundred times fast. The dream had felt so real. I even rubbed the top of my head, feeling the phantom stings. Why had I forgotten that? Why was I remembering it now? I had always accepted my father was tough in his training, but I didn’t recall anything like that. Maybe it wasn’t real, and it had just been a nightmare. There was no way that it had really happened. No way. I laid back down and tried to absolve my mind from the dream. Peeking at the clock that sat on the nightstand, I moaned. It was only two o’clock in the morning. Rolling onto my side, I drifted back to sleep, slipping into another dream. “Open your eyes child.” The strange, yet familiar voice spoke urgently. I tried to cover my ears to block out the sound, but the voice spoke again louder this time. “Kyra! I need you to open your eyes!” The voice said again

Hunter- After Kyra had told me about her dreams, I hadn’t been surprised that her father had deceived her. It had made sense that he wasn’t truly her father. From everything she had told me about her past, something had not added up. Still, there was much to discover, but now everything was starting to fall into place. When she confided in me about Selene, I had already had my suspicions, though having her verify them, had stunned me. Neither of us knew what their relationship was entirely, but we were on the right track. It had infuriated me when Kyra described her first dream, it had been tricky to subdue Ace, but I had needed her to know that I wouldn’t react unruly every time she told me something that was disturbing. I generally had better control over that. It was her that I was reacting to. Both Ace and I were exceedingly protective of her. Baffled by Selene’s information in regard to her abilities, I was able to get her to give me a couple of

Kyra- Later that evening, I had been ready to trash the library. I had spent all day reading over different books about different types of magic and learning very little. Everything I had read was about spells and sacrifices and essentially a bunch of absurdity. I don’t know how any of these books were going to help me. I was just wasting my time. Pacing in the backyard, I was conflicted. How was I supposed to learn something that wasn’t exactly natural for a wolf? There was no one that could tell me what to do or even a book I could read to figure it out. It was beyond infuriating. Nothing I could think of was getting me any closer to learning more about what I could do. How does one even utilize power and control emotions? What did that even mean? What did my emotions even have anything to do with this power? I could feel Alexia getting frustrated as well, which only heightened my own feelings towards the issue. Alexia claimed that this power didn’t come fr

Hunter- Waiting outside for Kyra, I started to get edgy. Is this really a good idea? What if she doesn’t like my family? I turned towards the truck and was just about to start pacing when I groaned. The truck. Last time it hadn’t gone so well. Crap. I started pacing and feeling myself starting to sweat. “Hunter?” Her sweet voice filled my ears. Turning towards her, my eyes nearly pop out of my sockets. She was standing there without any clothes on. Complete and utterly naked. I mean okay, so I am not really complaining. She was beautiful and utterly perfect. But, going to my family home like that, wouldn’t do. My attention fell to the black piece of clothes and the white sandals she had bundled up in the bend of her arm. When I glanced back up, she was biting her bottom lip. Shit. She was sexy doing that, devastatingly so. I had half a mind to go and mark her at that moment. “Uh Hunter, could we, uh…” She paused as if she was trying to find the nerve

Kyra- Finally, I may be able to learn something of my past, I just hope that he knew something more than just speculation. I had been nervous to come here and when Hunter’s father started asking questions, I was ready to leave. I wanted to run as far away as I could, but I’ve been running my entire life. Isn’t running what I wanted to stop doing? So I stayed and made an effort try to be the normal girl I’ve been wanting to be. Its normal for others to ask questions about me. I was an anomaly after all. “Please, tell me what you heard?” I asked as I sat up in my chair straighter, fixing my attention on Sebastian. “Well, I can’t be too sure on what is actually true, there was rumors that mentioned a child that was given to the Crescent Moon pack, to be raised there as their own, but the child disappeared. There was speculation that the child was born of the Moon Goddess herself. I heard there was even a prophecy about the child, written in the stars.” S

Chapter Nineteen
Kyra- Friday morning, I awoke to a knock on my door. I hadn’t slept much, I had stayed up late reading over a couple of books I had found in the library about Selene. I had come to the realization about one thing, Selene had been a part of my life while I was growing up. It brought me a little comfort knowing that all along I had my mother guiding me. I still didn’t believe she was my mother, but if she was, I at least knew she had been with me. Alexia was still blocking me. I didn’t know why, though I was starting to speculate she knew more than she had let on. Ever since coming to this pack, we were no longer as close as we once were. Now it was as if I could barely reach her. Her blocking me was another matter entirely, never has she ever done it and I was starting to feel like she was abandoning me. Calmer this morning than I had been, I sat up in bed and pulled the blanket up to my chin. “Come in.” I yelled out to Hunter, whom I knew was at the o
