The alpha has ordered him to ensure that the prince wakes up the next morning. On arriving at his chambers to do his work, the royal mother gave him another directive.   What kind of situation was this? The orders of the Alpha must be followed and the wishes of the royal mother must not be contradicted.   "I have been ordered by the alpha to watch over him till dawn your royal majesty" the healer replied.   This is what it means with the phrase 'between the rock and a hard place'. Lukas Briston stepped out of his chambers and saw his bodyguards standing at it's entrance. He frowned and glared at them.   They all bowed  and bent their necks for submission. This news could cost them their lives.   " What's the matter?" Lukas asked, seeing how the men were fidgeting and seemed to aviod his gaze.   " It's the prince, he has…" one of the men was replying when Lukas interrupted him. " The prince is fine right?" He asked.  He presume the men had come to inform him that the prince had awaken to consciousness.   It is news to them, but to him, it is what he already expect to happen. He had informed the healer to reverse what

Lukas glared at them with a growl, feeling like he should hold them by the throat and strangulate them.   "Where is the prince?" Lukas howl. It is evidently visible to everyone present that he was at the height of anger.   " We tried to stop him and overpowered him but we couldn't. We suffered casualties and few of our men are dead already while he escaped with a certain girl.." The chief among the wolves was explaining when Lukas thundered.   "Fools, incompetent fools. You all couldn't withstand a single person and yet you see yourselves as warriors?   And you didn't alert me about the whole incident so we could stop him on time. You failed in your responsibility and I will see that you get punished for it.

Lukas felt a little uneasy when he saw the looks on his daughter's face. She is the only one who cares about him among his two children.   Now he had wounded her heart, hurting her with the words she heard him say about her mother.   What can he do at this time when he is in a bad mood? He felt a hint of remorse but his ego would not bring him down to apologise.   He was restlessly waiting for the news about his son and his mate.
