CHAPTER 51
Brother Melchior Brother Melchior grabbed Brother Casper's arm before he could enter the meeting room.  “This is the chance that we have been waiting for.” He whispered, indicating their plan to Brother Casper. Brother Casper nodded his agreement. “I would say so. We do not have time to discuss this. Let intuition guide us, brother.” Brother Melchior let go and followed him into the room. Everyone gathered around the circular table. Brother Melchior took his place in the hollowed-out center.  He listened to the murmurings around him for a minute, gathering his powers. Then he raised his hands in the air and spoke.

Chapter 52
Clarissa   Clarissa stared into the dark eyes of Centra. Her heartbeat was unnaturally fast. If what the girl said was true, they wouldn’t need King Righ. But of course, it came with a warning.  As long as Clarissa was still alive, the pendant could be retrieved intact. The creatures and other pursuers that she had not known were on her trail would kill her to get it back. Its current placement protected Clarissa’s life, and she would not be able to lose it. She could still offer the pendant the purple sage had given her. Try to trick the werecats into believing they had the key. But if King Righ had known it was not the necklace she wore, then so would the werecats.

It was time they left the monastery.  Angel   “Over here.” The young girl called. “We found him!” A chunky boy about five years old walked over to the bars the girl was pointing at. The dungeon cell windows were street level. The boy gave the bars a quick yank and pulled them out of place. Two other children lowered her to the ground inside the cell. She walked up to the statue that had been a man last night.  He took the face of the movement, inspiring the children to come together. Chapter 56
Blake  Day was ending swiftly, and Centra had been sitting next to Clarissa for hours with her eyes closed and her hands neatly folded in her lap. While in the village, he had been able to procure three quarter-horses, which seemed in excellent shape. The villagers took care of their animals. But he was getting impatient. After returning, he had the time to hunt a couple of rabbits, make a fire, cook a stew and eat. The stars shone overhead, and he would need to sleep if they did not awaken soon. He considered the amount of mind-controlling substances she had consumed. He had seen men completely lose their minds with less exposure. All he could do was hope that Centra was

It was taking full advantage of Blake’s guard being down. Blake put his hands up to protect his face as he maneuvered. But his efforts were futile as the creature’s strength sorely overpowered his own.It took several punches for Blake to realize who was attacking him. His head was ringing, and his face throbbed. Adrenaline pumped through his veins. It was a natural occurrence in humans. Every creature had a flight or fight response; most monsters, though, did not get the adrenaline boost. They had another mechanism.Blake wrapped a leg around

Chapter 59
Clarissa Blake wrapped an arm around Clarissa and guided her back to their campfire. She snuggled into him, enjoying the contrast of his body heat against the cool night air. “As glad as I am to see you awake, what are you doing out here?” He asked. “It’s dangerous.” She shrugged. “I woke up looking for you.” He gave her a grateful smile and nuzzled the top of her head. Clarissa smiled happily and wrapped an arm around his waist.  “Where were you?” She asked as they sat down on her blanket togethe
