21. His Wolf
DELSANRA Why did I want to see him in wolf form? Was it to try to see that he wasn’t just a monster? I wasn’t sure, but I had only ever seen wolves killing… I don’t even know why those words left my lips, but they did, and he seemed to find this all so amusing as he slowly peeled that shirt off his sexylicious body. "Eyes on me, kitten." His words ignited the burning fire within me, and I had no way to quell it… My heart thundered as my eyes dipped to his hands that slowly undid his belt. My chest rose and fell. I couldn’t turn away. If I did, he’d just think he had one on me. I sat back and crossed my arms under my chest. "Do carry on." I said lightly. I crossed my legs wishing that ache that was building went away… but no, it only grew as he unbuckled his belt before kicking his boots off and hooking his fingers into his pants to pull them down. That was when I quickly looked away. I had seen him once as a wolf when those mon

22. The Things I'd Do
RAYHAN I hadn’t been able to sleep last night, firstly thanks to my wolf, who had been elated since Delsanra hugged him. Despite the fact she didn’t have a wolf it didn’t seem to bother him at all; he was clearly just happy to have his mate. The other reason was the fact that she clearly didn’t hate wolves; it was the human side of werewolves she hated. That hurt, but I couldn’t blame her. It was my kind who had hurt her, not werewolves in wolf form... but for the first time in my life I was jealous of my wolf, and although I could sense his comfort, I could also sense the smugness he was feeling. That was irritating... Stupid cocky Alpha wolf. I swear if he didn’t cut his crap about her liking him, I wouldn’t allow him to see her again… but… she had liked it, I had felt her calmness around him… Damn, it seemed I'd have to spend more time in wolf form if I wanted her to accept me... and not for fighting or running, but to play ‘doggy,’ as Delsanra would put it.

23. Jealousy
DELSANRA He shouldn’t have come here, since morning, the women who have been coming in have been eyeing him up like he was a piece of meat. To begin with, I thought it was amusing because usually only women are perved at in this manner. But after about the fifth woman, I’d had enough. It became irritating and the way he’d talk to them, take their orders, and flash them those sexy smiles of his. I didn’t miss some of the comments in passing as they asked him for his number, gave him theirs, or simply talked about him. Some women kept ordering things just so they wouldn’t have to leave, and it was just building up inside of me. Now he was over there, I didn’t miss how that gorgeous blonde leaned closer to him, whispering something suggestively, or the way Rayhan looked down at her, obviously paying attention to what she was saying. That was his type, the type of woman he deserved, not someone riddled with physical and mental scars. But why did I even ca

24. A Touch Of Lipstick
RAYHAN We had gotten home, showered and were sitting with fresh mugs of coffee made by my kitten and some store-bought brownies that were lying around. The spell had shaken her, I had seen the fear and despair in her eyes and the way that flicker of hope had faded from them. We were now sitting on the rug in front of the fireplace. Our mugs in hand, the smell was welcoming, mixed with hers that I had become so used to… "So, you really want to know?" She asked. "Yeah, I'm sure I’ve been clear enough." I said tilting my head as I looked at her. The black top she wore was clingy and I was trying my best not to focus on the fact she was not wearing a bra, the fabric clinging to her boobs. Paired with leggings the full black outfit made her look even smaller than usual. She nodded and took a deep breath. "I was an illegitimate child born of an affair or something. I have never known my birth mother. She left me on my father's doorst

25. The Alpha Princess
CHRIS I can't believe the Alpha wanted to see me at their own place... The Alpha mansion was huge, and it wasn’t a place that any work was usually conducted. The Luna was precise on that… no work allowed to be discussed on her premises. But today the Alpha had called me regarding work. Since Rayhan had left for his training, me and the girls rarely came to the mansion, or as some of us men joked, the Alpha princess’s prison. Raihana, the only daughter of our Alpha and Luna, didn’t really walk around the pack grounds often. She didn’t train nor did she take part in any of the fighting events. I now glanced around the large garden. The security was tight, there were guards lining the outer walls of the mansion. I knew that was the Luna’s doing because she was still scared of witches. I knew when Rayhan did end up bringing Delsanra home that it was not going to be easy. I glanced at my watch, ten minutes early... Seriously, why did I bother to come here early anyway? I was about to k

26. Her Lineage
RAIHANA His piercing green eyes were wide with shock, he looked stunned. Despite my calm front, I was nervous… It had all happened on my 18th birthday. I was meant to have my first shift, and I had felt my wolf awaken. But… I hadn’t been able to shift easily, it was slow and what usually took a few seconds took an hour. Dad had been the only one with me as he had told Mom to leave, realising something was wrong. He had not wanted her to witness it. I still remember the blood, the torn skin, the pain... It was the first and last time I shifted, it almost felt like something was blocking my shift. I hadn’t even been able to hold the shift, seconds after shifting, my body reverted to human form. But along with it… I had awakened as a witch. At the time, Dad had simply comforted me, but the following day he had sent Mom off on a trip to her father’s pack. He had made me sit down and told me that I might be a witch. I mean, he didn’t even let Mom see me. I

27. A Moment In Red
DELSANRA The party was in full swing, with teens ranging from fifteen to nineteen in attendance. All the staff were in red and black just like Rayhan and me, to match the theme. The diner had been decorated in reds, blacks and gold. With balloons, streamers, a dessert table and table coverings. Horace’s wife had popped in before we got here to make sure everything was in order. I had gotten a lot of compliments, which I found really awkward; I wasn’t used to them. But the one who looked the best here, was Rayhan… He wore black ripped jeans, black boots and a red button-down shirt with a few buttons left open and his sleeves rolled up. His hair was tied back, and every girl here was swooning over him. I couldn’t blame them. Jane couldn’t keep her eyes off him either and had tried flirting with him several times, but he would refuse her and cut the conversation short. Today he was avoiding the females smoothly, I wasn’t sure if it was because half of th

28. Their Arrival
RAYHANI don’t know what she tried to pull there, but it didn’t work, and it shocked her. If she thought I would leave her, then she had another thing coming. There was no way I would ever leave her behind… but it warmed my heart that she at least was worried about me. I wanted to tease her about it but now was not the time.Maybe I should shift, and she could ride me. Ok, fuck, that just led to a bad image. At a time like this, was my mind seriously going there? Yup, it was. Shit.I knew she was capable of hiding herself, but she was refusing to listen."Rayhan, please… go!" She whispered,I could sense them now too. There were three."Never. I'm telling you to go, kitten. Why don’t you listen to me?" I murmured, pulling her into a side alleyway. Trying to listen for the witches.Just as she whispered a spell, I felt something wrap around us. She placed a finger on my lips before I could even speak, an

29. The Coven
DELSANRA I had never felt more broken than I did as I walked away from him, glad the rain had mixed with the tears that streamed down my cheeks. Each step felt heavy, the urge to turn and run back to him was fighting me. I didn’t know it was possible to care for someone this much, that knowing I’ll never see them again hurt to the point I couldn’t breathe. The pain in my chest was drowning me and I realised that I had never been happier than I had been in the last few days. The banter, the playful teasing, his subtle flirting… or full-on at times… The way he cared for me… He had made a place in my heart for himself… Yes, in this broken, cracked heart. I wasn’t worthy of his time or feelings, and I was far too broken to give him what he had wanted… but… You know when they say that you only realise something’s value when it's gone… That is true. Right now, I regret not apologising for calling him a mutt or dog. For not telling him that, despite the fact

30. Determined
RAYHAN Empty. That’s how I felt. The spell she had cast held for a solid ten minutes, but it felt like years. I was helpless as my mate was taken away from me. I had tried to track them down the moment it let up, but there was no scent to go on. I didn’t let that stop me. All night I continued to try to sniff her out, but it was clear they had used strong magic to cover their tracks. I felt useless, numb and broken. I wished she was in front of me, telling me she hated me. I’d take that any day over this parting. The sun was now rising, and I had nothing. I returned to the penthouse, which suddenly felt big and cold without her presence. The rage and anger my wolf was feeling wasn’t helping. I needed to clear my head and get a team together. I didn’t care if anyone found out my mate was a witch or not. If the coven wants a war, I’ll give them one. I needed to call for a tracking squad. Although I knew that even that wasn’t goin
