71 - His love was so hot that it burned her badly.
Propose? The word sounded strange in Cathan's ears. He hadn't even thought about it. Most marriages among the Blades were arranged. He knew nothing about relationships, marriage and all but he knew that he didn't want to lose the only woman he ever loved. Proposal meant setting a date for marriage as well, which meant that he had to inform grandpa first and see if Kate will be comfortable with the conditions. The Blades were weird. "I will do that but I have to introduce her to my family as well before," he said thoughtfully. What if he proposed and the Blades condition wasn't favourable to Kate? "That is well understood. In case you don't know, her father is still unwell. You have to convince her to take over the business. My husband's skills are very poor and the company is dying," the woman's expression saddened at the mention of her husband. Cathan was somehow happy with the arrangement. If Kate agreed to manage the company, then she wasn't going to be flying around the world.

The next day, Casper received a call from Cathan. After answering the call, he left Jenna sleeping and went to the study. There, he dialed Hunter’s number. From what happened between him and Jenna last night, he had to hasten things up. He didn’t want to leave her in the dark and end up losing her. It was too painful for him to hear it from her mouth that she wanted to leave him. A seething anger surged through him after recollecting everything.“Don’t come back without getting the man,” he said sternly. Then he continued, “use all the resources you can. If you need anything, just ask,” he concluded.Hunter understood that he was talking about the mysterious Blade. He couldn’t refuse though he knew that the chances were slim.“I will try my best.”He was about to hang up when Casper said, “keep an eye on Caesar.” Aside from the Wreaths, Caesar was Casper’s next bait, for what reason he didn’t use it at the party. Casper’s expression was terrible. If he could get the Wreaths out of th

How could he convince the old man?“Do you think that we Blades will allow a woman to take our assets? Have you thought about how our wealth has been preserved for generations? If she doesn’t agree, I can find you a wife who isn’t greedy for your wealth,” the old man snarled and puffed his cigar again. Cathan ruffled his hair in frustration. He couldn't let this happen. He had to buy time to seek Casper's advice.“Grandpa, you are not being fair. If she becomes my wife, then she’s my responsibility. How can my wife have nothing

From the deadly look on Casper’s face, Jenna could tell that something was wrong. “What’s the problem?” She was worried and asked but there was no time for him to explain. “I’ll be back,” Casper said and rushed out of her office. By the time he got to his office, the screen of his laptop was black but there was an encrypted message waiting for him. [If you don’t call back your spy, I’ll kill him. I have a personal score to settle with the Wreaths and will only give you information about them when I’m in a good mood.] Casper balled his hands into fists as the content of the message sank in. Good mood? He needed the fucking information urgently and the sender was operating with moods. How the fuck was he supposed to understand his mood It was also as if the sender of the message knew that Casper had read it because the message disappeared and everything on the screen returned to normal. Casper felt that the person was a Blade assassin gone rogue. If that was the case, then he couldn'

76 - Lock down the airport, I’m coming
“I have something to show you,” Grandpa ambled majestically to Jenna. He looked so elegant in his all-white that Jenna couldn’t see the frustrations in his eyes. She was passionless about what he wanted to show her but when she saw it, her reflexes fell and her breathing hitched. “What do you want?” She gritted her teeth and asked, her hands balled into fists. He must want something to show her that video. The old man sat majestically on the chair in front of her with his legs crossed. Too bad he couldn’t bring a cigar because he was in a hurry. He had monitored Casper very well before entering Jenna’s office. Since they just arrived, it wasn’t likely that Casper would immediately come to check on Jenna. Whichever way, grandpa knew he had to leave before he came here. “Just imagine this video playing on all LED tv screens to welcome all staff in the morning." Jenna could feel her heart tightening in her chest. She was aware that Casper had shown the old man the video but had no i

Grandpa stepped out of his palace to see a big black rectangular box with a big red ribbon. He suddenly felt uncomfortable, and asked irritably, “who delivered it?”The security didn’t know how to answer the question without sounding irresponsible. “They had masks on their faces.”Grandpa’s face was expressionless. He wanted to return the box but on second thoughts, ordered the security man to open it for curiosity's sake. The horrific sight that met his eyes was blinding, grandpa sunk on his knees and tried to wake the man in the box. His eyes that hadn’t shed tears in ages began to water like a fountain. His whole body shook violently from sorrow. He wailed in agony like a widow, his blurry eyes from tears catching sight of a pen drive
