Chapter 51
Billy and I walked into the large room and the guard left out. The doors were closed and I could help but look around. The tiles were golden marble ones that sparkled under the lights of the chandeliers hanging on the ceiling. The windows were large and silk curtains tried to block the natural light from outside but did not do much to help with that. But I think that it was just the aesthetics of the room. The walls were smooth and had art paintings hanging on them; almost twenty. I did not know the exact amount but I could tell that they were a lot and expensive. Perfume filled the air and the silence in the room was enough to bore a hole in someone’s heart. A throne sat almost at the back of the room. It was adorned with jewels and emeralds; on it sat a very beautiful lady. Her presence reeked of power and authority. She had a nonchalant look on her face as she studied us. There were two thrones next to hers. One on her right and the other on her left. The one on the right was o

Chapter 52
Ignoring the Moon goddess was at first could be done because I could just push her voice at the back of my mind with all the other voices and thoughts in my head. But now, it was harder than ever. “Belle…” I cleared my throat. “Oh, don’t tell my mom about that. She definitely does not know that I dated someone from your pack. She would go berserks if she finds out. Not because she hates your pack but because of what happened in her life.”“Yeah…” I dragged the word as understanding dawned on me. I knew what she was trying to get at. “Your mom fell in love with your dad and he was from another pack. Their relationship is complicated and she blames it on the fact that she did not find love in her own pack. Am I hitting the nail on the head?” Belle gave me a small smile as a look of mild confusion smeared her face. “Yeah, but how did you know that? I mean, yeah. Anyone could put that together but you got that so perfectly that it scares me.” She laughed lightly. I smiled in response.

Chapter 53
Belle was sitting on the couch and had an awed expression. “Healed? So I’m right, huh? You were reincarnated and then blessed with the gift of healing by the Moon goddess.” She laughed in disbelief. “Keep your voice down,” I cautioned her when I saw an omega working as a housemaid walk by. I did not need the whole world to know that I was some kind of freak. “It’s nothing to be ashamed of.” She smiled. “Oh, no. I’m not ashamed. I just don’t want everyone to know. I’m not comfortable with that.” I rubbed my hand on my forehead in a swift motion. “I would like to know two things. Number one is that you said that you have read about people reincarnating and being blessed with gifts. Where did you read that?” I wanted to know. I mean, of course, I too had heard about stories like that but I had never read one before. If there was a book where I could read about people that went through what I am literally going through, maybe I would know what to do and won’t feel too alone in all thi

Belle had captured everyone’s attention. “Dad,” She began. “There is something that I need to tell you; something that mom and I need to tell you.” She glanced at her mom. “Belle…” Her mom chuckled nervously and grabbed a glass of water to drink. After taking a very small sip and putting the glass back down, she continued, “If you are about to say what I think you are about to say, then no, it is not the right time.” “When would it be then?” Belle asked. “What are you two talking about?” Billy chuckled. “Mom has HIV,” Belle blurted out. Billy rolled his eyes playfully. “Um, that has not been a secret to me. She told me even before you were born.” He shrugged nonchalantly. “But what I’m concerned about is you just blurting that sensitive information in front of Lucia. No offense to her but we have not known her for even more than a month.” “None taken.” I smiled blandly and reached for some cut-up fruits in a bowl not far from me. “It’s okay, I told her already.” Belle did not s

It was the next day and I was left in the mansion with Pearl, Belle’s mom. The day was sunny and the wind was warm and very light. The sky was blue like a painting and bright white clouds floated slowly past the glowing sun. She and I were in one of the living rooms. The TV was on but was at a very low volume. A TV show about vampires was on and it actually looked very interesting but I could not bring myself to give it my full attention because I kept thinking about how I would be able to help Pearl. Belle had been taken to the hospital by her dad to check if she was still positive. To be honest, I was not worried about that because I had the assurance that the Moon goddess had healed her through me. But what I was indeed worried about was Pearl. I did not know if I could help her in the way that she needed to be helped. She stayed home and did not follow her family to the hospital because she needed my help. She needed me to try to heal her. And I wanted to. I really wanted to,

Then it stopped. The bright light dimmed down until it was gone. We opened our eyes and looked at our means of physical contact, which was me holding onto Pearl’s hand. “Oh,” She chuckled the word out. “Oh my gosh! You did it!” She sounded so excited. She pulled me in for a hug and I could not resist. I hugged her back and her perfume filled my nose. I could not believe it either. I actually did it. “You are capable of so much more…” I finally heard the voice that I had dying to hear since I decided that I would like to heal Belle’s mom. It was the voice of the Moon goddess. “Be proud.” The voice was filled with exceeding warmth and love. “I did it,” I mumbled and then broke the embrace with Pearl. “Ho–how do you feel?” I asked her as I studied her with my eyes. She looked down at her hands and body and let out a small laugh. “Honestly, I feel not much different than before; just a bit lighter,” She told me the truth. My insecurities bubbled up and I tried my best to shove them

With a racing heart and adrenaline rushing through my veins, I stared into the eyes of the Moon goddess. Of course, it was not her real form. Seeing her real form would be instant death for me. She was in the same form that I last saw her in when I was in the spirit world. Her presence took away my fear and shock gradually and all I could feel was true peace. “You did well.” She smiled brightly and I could not help but smile back. “What are you talking about?” “Come on. Do you want to make me say it?” She walked away from me and deeper into the library. I followed her and ran my hand through my hair. “Actually, yes. Because I honestly don’t know what you’re talking about.” “Hmm,” She mumbled under her breath and continued to walk. She walked until she came to a stop right in front of a desk that had some old books scattered on it. Dust covered every one of them. It was obvious that no one had been down here in a while. “You healed someone without my help,” She finally told me

I walked out of the library and headed up the stairs. The musky smell lingered in the air and faded as I walked out. Belle followed me and said, “But I thought that you said that you were going to be staying for a while. Plus, look at the time. It’s night.” It was clear that she wanted me to stay but that could not happen. It was fun being in another world but I had to get back to mine. I had to put on my big girl’s pants and get back to the town of rogue werewolves. A town that was a trigger for me yet I had to return. It was fun forgetting about all my problems and pain for once and just helping other people. It was fun being in this town called Greenleaf. It was refreshing. But all things eventually came to an end. And my time here had done that. I did not reply to Belle until we reached the top of the stairs. We were no longer at the basement level. “Look, Belle. I am grateful that I got to meet you and your parents. It made my heart swell with gladness. But I think it’s time

“May I have your name, please?” The guard asked me. She kept running her eyes over me as she waited for my reply. “Is Alexa and Jade Sanchez still in there?” I answered her question with another one. The guard pursed his lips. “Look, I am not at liberty to inform you of who’s in the mansion or not. And if you truly have an appointment like you say you do, I would need your name. So you either tell me that or I would have you removed. Respectfully.” I sniffled dryly and nodded. He did have a point and was very professional and respectful. “I’m Lucia Hill, of the Thunder pack. Tell king Sam that and I would be ushered in in no time.” I gave him a small smile. He ran his eyes over me one more time and then released a short sigh. “The Thunder pack was wiped out. One of the only survivors was the Luna. Get your story straight before you try to lie your way in here.” I chuckled and then ran my hand through my hair. “I’m not lying. And yes, I know that the Thunder pack was wiped out. Al

I allowed the information to sink in for a few seconds. “Mom…” I maintained eye contact with her. “No, I don’t believe you.” I pulled away from her and stood to my feet. Tears were hurriedly building in my eyes and a knot had formed in my throat. She laughed lightly without humor. “It needed to be done. And I don’t regret it.” She stood up too. “But…but you were the same person that told me that revenge was not the answer. You said that forgiveness would free me,” I reminded her in a firm voice. I felt crappy so it baffled me how clear and confident I sounded. “Lucia, we thought we had lost you. When Katara came back into her rightful body, I thought I had lost you for the second time. And…I just could not. I could stop keep pretending that I had it all together,” She explained, and I kept staring at her. “You said we. Did Jade help you? Did he help you kill an already sick woman?” I asked, not giving a damn as to who was listening, though I knew that it was very risky. “Shhh,” M
