The Forest of Void
Chapter 61. Kaden"You should wipe off that grim look, Alpha Kaden." A teasing voice wafted into my ears.I narrowed my eyes at the owner. It was Detlef, Alpha Aurel's Beta. I had woken up on the wrong side of the bed today, and could the day get any worse?I was stuck in the same car with Detlef. It was already an incredible feat that I hadn't strangled him."I believe we aren't close enough for you to tell me what to do." I retorted."Well, I believe the Prinzessin wouldn't like to see that look on you." He shrugged, turning his gaze away.I stifled a growl. "Talk about her again, and you'd have your balls in your mouth." I threatened, my voice dripping with menace."Easy lover boy. Tch, that's the worse thing about love. It turns you into an idiot." He shook his head, and flashed me a mocking look of pity."Call me a lover boy again, and see how-" I began saying when Brandon interrupted me."What's the plan?" He asked in his characteristic calm tone.I swallowed down

Chapter 62. ReeneFor some reason, I couldn't tell, I'd felt unsettled all day. My heart felt as though it had been gripped by a vice and something bad was on its way, but I couldn't quite figure out what it was. Talk about waking up on the wrong side of the bed again. I shook my head, pacing my room restlessly as I glanced occasionally at the portrait on the wall. It was a beautifully drawn fountain.A creak sounded on the door, and I turned around sharply. With a calm demeanor, my mother stood at the door entrance."Königin," I muttered, flashing a ghost of a smile. I noticed her wince, which she quickly hid, with a smile. My heart clenched, and a brief feeling of guilt, washed over me. I should be calling her 'mother,' yet I couldn't bring myself to."You're still up?" I hugged myself, as she strolled in."Yeah, I couldn't sleep." She shrugged. "How is it going?" She continued, looking around the room. I could tell from the look on her face that she had somethin

Uncertainty
Chapter 63. KadenA couple of days had passed since the harrowing rescue. I still remembered the moment like I was reliving it a second time because of how tedious and miraculous rescuing Trisha had been. At a point I thought it wasn't going to be possible but thankfully we were able to pull through it and get her out of the danger before it was too late. The Forest of Void wasn't a safe place for anybody to be due to the dangers that it housed. A lot of spine-chilling stories were told about the forest and the people who had got lost in it, never to be seen or heard from again. The life in Hezen, by the way, was gradually getting more and more familiar and I was gradually picking the morning rituals and routines that came with being here. I also found happiness whenever I was with Reene, not to mention. Alpha Aurel's help the whole time that we had been there. Since Trisha was getting better and everything at this point went like clockwork, I couldn'

Kaden might be in trouble
Chapter 64. Reene.I stood at the balcony watching as the car roared to life. I couldn't help the way I felt about him leaving. I wished I could stop him now and let him know that I didn't quite trust him going back to the pack. They had clenched my heart again like a vice-grip and no matter how much he tried not to think about it, the thought always stuck like a leech. Something deep down told me that a very grave situation was about to happen within our Pack and him going back was only going to fuel it.As I stood there, watching as the SUV started getting tiny in the distance ,the pang of angst continued to intensify and I wondered if it was all connected to the terrible thoughts and feelings that had plagued me lately. I wished he had listened to me at least, things might not have been going this way. But he was always the stubborn type who never listened to advice and went on to do whatever came to his mind. After a while of standing there, I couldn't stay

You'd have to kill me first, Dennison
Chapter 65. KadenI was still pacing even while in the car. "Come on, you've got to calm down. You're not helping matters at all. We will get there very soon!" Brandon advised but I was anything but calm. My wolf wouldn't let me be and my mind in addition was heavily concerned about what was going on in my Pack right now. I could only imagine what must have happened since the guard had mindlinked me. Something told me that the situation might be even worse at the moment. I just hoped that My Pack wouldn't be subdued by those filthy rogues, I hoped I would get there on time and deal with the enemies who were doing everything to have everything I've worked for demolished in the blink of an eye. The journey, per say, was quite tense as I fought the worries that clogged my mind. The engine of the car provided a backdrop to our conversation which came occasionally. "Can you just calm down?!" I growled at my wolf, already sweating from the discomfort he was caus

Chapter 66 Reene"This isn't going to work! I don't feel a damn thing. Ugh!" I bit my lips in frustration as I closed my eyes again. I opened them a few seconds later, wanting to disappear from the room. "That's the way it is. You just have to keep trying it until you finally get there. Look, dear, it doesn't matter how long you do it. As long as you can get it done correctly for an amount of time, it will compound in the long run and very soon you're going to keep getting better and better until you finally get in touch with your wolf. It's that simple but you've got to give it time my dear." That was the one-thousandth time she was drumming those words into my ears today, and it was pissing me off, I wasn't going to lie about that. "Ok?" She said, chuckling when a smug smile crept up my face. I closed my eyes again, trying to shut out everything happening on the outside and focus on my inner being. But as soon as I closed those eyes, my thoughts drifted off t

Chapter 67. KadenPain, agony and torture. Those were the things that we faced in the dark, dank cell that offered no atom of hope as we went through all sorts of punishment. I wondered how I would have to go through it all before we would be released. I still regretted the fact that I didn't listen to her, and every now and then I gnashed my teeth in grime and thought about what I was going to do. The days blurred into endless nights and each night was marked by the relentless pain was inflicted on me by Denisson and the rest of the time, his guards. My thoughts were broken when the door opened to reveal Dennison. He had a wide smirk on his face as he approached us, his footfall resounding resounding over the room. He had a rod on his hand and on the other side was a whip. I bowed my head as I anticipated another session of nothing but pure pain as he carried out his sadistic desires. "Gentlemen." He chuckled, taking the seat that was already placed by the sid

Chapter 68. ReeneSitting in the plush indoor forest of Hezen was something only the royalties could access. It was a therapy of its own because of the peaceful, tranquil nature of the place and the beauty that it exuded, not to mention the exotic flora which provided a stark contrast to the turmoil that was presently going on in the Pack. I wished things were way better than they were now. I wished we could.go back to the old days when everything was right and the world hadn't gone mad like it was right now. I watched as the waterfall in the distance hummed. There were geese that added to the beauty which went quite well with the green. I was seated by my mother on a bench. We were the only ones in here and every access to the woods had been blocked because we had a special program, as she was still teaching me how I was going to awaken my powers. She was very happy with the fact that I was getting way better very fast. There was no doubt now that I had in

Chapter 69. ReeneThe whole place was silent for a while as we all came to terms with what was facing us. Alpha Dennison, however, broke the silence a few minutes later. "We don't have to kill ourselves, we don't have to shed blood. We can be smart, and do so the right way. But if you insist we do it the old way, then who am I not to agree to that?" A sickening smile covered his face, and I stifled the urge to puke.Dennison yelled from the distance, producing a scythe from his garment and holding it across Alpha Kaden's throat. It was attached to a chain so if he pulled the chain, his head would come rolling off. I growled at the sight, unable to contain my rising anger. "Would you love to see his head on a pike?" Dennison asked, looking at me. "Of course not, young lady. I know you wouldn't want to see him dead. And that's why I am giving you this one-time offer to do this the right way and we can avoid getting ourselves killed. It doesn't make sense that way

Chapter 70. KadenI blinked, trying to see what was in front of me but I couldn't see beyond my nose. There was no moon so the night was as black as charcoal. I turned around again, the air whipping my head as I tried to make out what the hell was going on here but it seemed quite impossible. It felt as though I was trapped in a nightmarish world, because I kept seeing shadows and eerie patterns and whispers of dread echoing through the void. I carefully took a step, cracking a twig in the process. The sound resounded throughout the void, causing me to stiffen immediately. Despite not seeing anything, I knew that there was something here in the dark, and I had to do my best to make sure I was not detected or that was going to be my end. The forest seemed to also go silent immediately. I turned back and in the edges of my vision I began seeing shapes lurking. They were indistinct but my instincts told me that they were menacing as well. "Fuck!" I whispered, but t
