Eighty one: Suit yourself
Jade's povThe days ran slowly after that. My injuries were already healed and I felt so much better. CJ hadn't come to the house since after the funeral and the doctor had gone back to his place. Saint's guys at the house were fewer than they usually were and he came home every late night and most times before I woke up. I didn't see Alessandro or the old man after the funeral either and the house just felt lonely, silent and empty with just me inside. I thought of every way to get closer to Saint and even texted him on a few occasions asking when he would be home but he never responded to any of them and soon enough, I found myself lying on the couch in the living room upstairs, waiting for him to come back home every night. I couldn't lie also, I missed him like hell. I missed him so much that I thought I would go crazy. I was lying down as usual stopping the sleep that was coming with a lot of force when I heard cars drive in. I knew instantly he was the one and waited eagerly

Eighty two: Drunk
Jade's povI didn't hear him leave his room the next morning. Or rather, he left before I woke up. The headache I got from crying myself to sleep was starting to decrease as I turned in my bed thinking of the previous night's incident. He hadn't even come after me when I walked to my room. And damn him for that because that hurt as well. I remembered also he smelt of alcohol and cigarette and as foolish and desperate as I was, I chose to conclude that he might have been drunk the previous night. Evening came and as I made my food, I ended up making him something as well so he'd eat before going to sleep in case he came back late. I lied to myself that I was going to go back to my room and leave a quick note for him next to the food, but here I was, on the couch just like the previous day, waiting yet again for him. Time passed by, slowly and he didn't come back and when I had started to give up and walk back to my room, I heard his footsteps coming up the stairs. They weren't qui

Eighty three: I'm leaving
Jade's povThe sun rays didn't hit my face this morning and I was glad as I stretched lazily on the bed not opening my eyes. I rolled my body sideways to cuddle at the other part of the bed and the next place I found myself was on the floor face front with a loud thud. I winced flashing my eyes wide open and glancing around me. I wasn't in my room, I was in the living room. I had slept off there and Saint wasn't there. I hissed flipping off the floor and standing up while rubbing my forehead which hurt a little from the fall. I got to the kitchen and saw the food I made the previous night was still left untouched. I sighed reaching for a bottle of water from the fridge. After gulping the whole can, I threw away the food and walked to my room. Everything Saint told me the previous night left me thinking and I saw him in a different light. He was forced to grow up and fight for power by nineteen, toughen himself up and take his revenge as well and I knew that even though my situation

Eighty four: Injury
Saint's Pov. "I'm leaving!" She said loudly again as if wanting to confirm if I had heard her the first time. I just glared at her, gritting my teeth angrily. I was trying to keep her safe. To not let her end up like Aunt or the twins or my parents. And what? She wanted to leave. I didn't think I cared any longer and I just wasn't going to put up with this any more. "Then get the fuck out if you want to. I don't fucking care!" I said back to her. She wanted to walk past me and I drew her back to the wall. She winced and held her wrist, then shot me a glare. Tears were welling up in her eyes now and I knew I didn't pull her that hard to hurt her. She let go of her wrist and I saw a circle mark on it which looked like it was going to be an injury later. Only then did my eyes dart to my hand and I saw I had grabbed her with my hand that had my lit cigarette. "Shit," I mumbled to myself running a hand over my face. I didn't do that intentionally but I was too angry to think but at th

Eighty five: Ice cream
Jade's pov. The box of tissues was almost empty as I grabbed yet another one and blew out my nose in it. Then grabbed one more and dabbed my eyes with it. I sniffed severally, making me almost choke on my breath and I knew one annoying headache was going to come later. "You're the one that suggested to leave, Why are you crying your eyes out," Betty asked gently as she sat beside me, patting my back. "I...I thou... ught maybe h...he would stop me," I sobbed before sniffing. I was at her house now. I had called her to come pick me up after I got dropped off at the bar and I've been crying ever since I got into the car and we arrived at her house."Yeah, that's some shitty behaviour from him for letting you leave." Betty agreed. "But... but I took out my anger a...at him after S...Suzy's text," I told her, wiping my tears with my palm and swallowing hard, feeling the salty taste at the back of my throat. "Yeah, maybe you shouldn't have done that." She agreed also. "But... he ss..

Eighty six: Guy in the shadows
Saint's povI slammed my fist on the table in my room and felt my jaws tighten. Fuck it! I was going to get her back! I fucked up by letting her go and I just wanted her to be with me. I wanted her back and I was going to get her. I grabbed my keys and stepped out of my room, slamming the door behind me and at the same time, I saw Alessandro coming back up the staircase. "Ayo Gennaro the man!" Alessandro called out, waving in the air and grinning from ear to ear. I didn't know whatever had made him that happy but I wasn't ready to hear it. And why was he at home and not at Betty's or whatever her name was' house. "Yeah, I'm busy now," I replied, increasing my pace before stopping in front of him. "And what are you doing here?" He stretched, yawning in the process. "She's still indoors. Betty's the only one who has been going in and out of the house. I'm starting to think she might not be there." He shrugged. I shook my head. "I'm sure she is. Who's watching the house now?" "On

Eighty seven: Coffee shop
Jade's pov. The girl held his face in her hand as he looked at me while I stood frozen to the ground. "Come on... what're you doing standing there," Betty said coming over to me and then dragged me along with her. I was controlling myself well, trying to not cry at the sight of him not bothering to even walk up to me or anything. I was the one crying out my eyes every day while he had just been having the best time of his life with women. The hurt I felt was turning into anger and I felt stupid for ever even trying and thinking I could break his walls. I saw him look elsewhere while the girl continued to giggle and play with his hair. I glared at him before looking away. Ignoring him was the best thing to do and that was exactly what I was going to do. I changed into my work clothes and got to work immediately. "Of all days, he chose today to turn up," Betty said in a low tone as we stood at the counter waiting for the bartender. "I'm doing my best to ignore him, Betty. And the

Eighty eight: Run back
Jade's pov. He sighed in defeat. "You caught me."I laughed a little at his expression and he eyed me, looking away. "Saint sent you, didn't he?" I asked. "Yeah. He told me to look after you," He admitted. "Now he's going to kill me for real for letting you find out."I was surprised and I knew it was quite evident on my face. "He asked you to look after me?" "I mean yeah. He does care for you more than you think." He answered, putting the lollipop back into his mouth. I fell quiet as I thought about it, biting down on my lower lip and feeling the anger towards Saint seep away slowly. Saint had actually asked someone to look after me? Just because I left the house? Then why didn't he call me or send a text? Why didn't he walk up to me at the bar if he cared that much?I shook my head at him. "I doubt he does. I mean..."I trailed off, getting caught up in my own thoughts once more. "Look, Jade, he might be a stuck-up dude at times, he gets jealous easily, he threatens to kill me e

Eighty nine: Every emotion
Jade's povWe trooped into the bar, just like every other person and immediately, loud music blasted into our ears. I pulled up my strapless dress to cover my breasts that were shamelessly pumped out. Betty hit my hand as I did it for a second time and eyed me playfully. "Saint should see you that way red one. Why do you think I picked out the dress?" She winked at me and I smiled shyly. She must have seen through me to know I would definitely want to come here and I couldn't blame her though. I was a clown when it came to Saint because it didn't matter what he did, I always found myself thinking of him, wanting to see him and wanting to be with him. No matter how much I told myself I should keep away, I still found my way back. And right now, I wanted to find him and talk to him, talk about everything, tell him how much I missed him and makeup with him. "I don't see him anywhere though," I replied searching the VIP sections for him with my eyes. Betty dragged me to the counter a

Ninety: Headlights
Jade's povSaint's eyes locked with mine and the only emotion I could make out from him was shock. And it was only because of the way his eyes widened when he saw me. I hated him at that moment so much I thought my heart would explode and I regretted ever coming to the bar at all that night.Or even crossing paths with him. Lauretta? The crazy woman that was trying to kill me? Was the one he was here, making out with? And how the hell was she even here? I hadn't seen or heard anything about her since the night of our vacation and all of a sudden she popped into the world again. Maybe I was right all along. He still loved her She was his first love and I wasn't going to be surprised if he still loved the shit out of her. The tears were coming and my vision was starting to be blurry. I was going crazy standing there and the more I saw his face, the more I hated him. I heard her giggle loudly making me shoot Saint a hateful glare and turn abruptly to leave, shutting the door behind
