CHAPTER 71 Rogue
Mia's POV Bile rises in my throat as I look at Donovan standing in the doorway of Cora's room. My hand immediately rises to my neck, trying to hide the hideous mark that mars my skin.   "Hello, Sweetheart," Donovan says, not taking his eyes off me.   Instantly Emma is on her feet, standing between Donovan and me. "How did you get past the guards?" She demands to know.   Donovan sniffs the air around Emma, and an evil smile tugs at the corners of his lips. "Well, well, well," Donovan says as he looks at Emma. "What do we have here? The infamous Emma Paxton." Taking a step in Emma's direction, Donovan smells the air again. "You do smell good."   "Stay back," Emma says sternly. "I will not let you hurt them again."   With a wave of his hand, Donovan dismisses Emma's words. "I am not here to hurt anyone," he sneers. "I am only here to collect what is mine."   Getting to my feet, I stand beside Emma. "I do not belong to you," I hiss at him. "I don't belong to anyone."   "The mark

CHAPTER72 Rogues at the Paxton Pack
Thomas's POV "Something is wrong," Alpha Ethan says when we are about halfway back to the Paxton Pack. I glance at Ethan, who is growing restless in the seat beside me. "We aren't going fast enough," he screams at me. "What is going on?" I ask, confused. "Rogues," Dylan says from the back seat. "Rogues at the Paxton Pack." Ethan lets out a terrible growl, causing my car's windows to shatter. Slamming on the brakes, my car skids off the side of the road, and I turn to glare at Ethan. His claws are beginning to sprout from the tips of his fingers, and his eyes are pitch black. He is no longer in control. I am staring into the eyes of his wolf. Dylan is also in the back seat, partially shifted, and I wonder what I missed. "Will someone tell me what the fuck is going on?" I snarl. Ethan is too far gone to explain anything to me. Pushing the car door open, Ethan rips it off of its hinges. He leaps from the car, shifting in the air. He lands on four feet. His wolf turns his hea

CHAPTER 73 The Wreck
Mia's POV Turning around in the bench seat of the old truck, I watch as what is left of the army of rogues follows us off Paxton Pack territory. I can only hope Cora, Emma, and her children remain safe. Or all of this will have been for nothing. "Turn around," Donovan growls as he lays his hand on my leg. "There is nothing left for you back there. You are going to be my Rogue Luna." My skin burns under his touch, almost like a warning. I snort with laughter as I brush his hand off my leg. "Just because you call yourself a pack, it doesn't make you one. I will never be your Luna." Grabbing me by the chin, Donovan forces me to look into his eyes. "You will be mine." Twisting my head, I wrench my chin out of Donovan's hand. "Why me?" I ask. "Out of all of the she-wolves in the world. Why me?" "You truly don't know who you are, do you?" Donovan laughs. "I am nobody," I hissed at him. "I was born a nothing, and I will always be a wolf-less nothing." "Why do you think Alpha

CHAPTER 74 In Shock
Thomas's POV Racing around the truck, my wolf moves as fast as he can. The smell of gasoline is growing in the air, and I know I must get Mia out of the truck before it explodes. But as soon as I round the corner, I see Donovan trying to pull Mia out of the truck by her arms. Mia screams in pain as Donovan pulls on her arms, sending my wolf into a frenzy. Forgetting about the impending doom of the possibility of the truck exploding. My wolf grabs one of Donovan's legs and yanks him out of the truck's cab. Donovan lets out a grunt of pain as he tries to hold onto Mia's arms, his nails digging through her flesh as I drag him away. The fresh scent of her blood now fills the air, fueling my rage against the filthy rogue that tried to take what is mine. Swinging Donovan's leg in my mouth, I fling him across the forest floor. His body slides to a stop, and he looks up at me with pitch-black eyes. "She will never be yours," Donovan says as his face distorts. Mangy brown fur begins

CHAPTER 75 Special
Thomas POV Emma helps me out of the back of her car and leads me to a wheelchair waiting for us at the hospital entrance. I want to protest at being wheeled around, but I don't have the energy. I am taken back to a room where a doctor checks me over. The whole time I keep my eyes glued to the door, hoping someone will come in and tell me what happened to Mia. "His wolf is healing him," the doctor says. "He will just need some time to come to terms with what happened to his mate." I watch silently as the doctor leaves the room. I want to yell out after him and ask him about Mia, but once again, I cannot find the energy to do so. "Thomas, can you explain what happened?" Ethan says as he snaps his fingers in front of my face, trying to get my attention.   I can hear what Ethan is saying, but my brain doesn't form the words I need to respond.  My arms ache for Mia.  I need to see her.  I need to know that she will be okay.  She is the only thing I can focus on at the moment.

CHAPTER 76 Mother
Mia's POV The warm sun shines down on my face, waking me from a peaceful sleep. Stretching my arms to the side, I feel the soft blades of grass under my skin. A huge yawn escapes my lips as I open my eyes and sit up.   The last thing I remember is dragging myself out of Donovan's truck right before it exploded. But looking around now, I don't appear to be in those woods any longer. I have no idea where I am, but the scenery is beautiful.   I am in a meadow, sitting beside a small stream under a massive weeping willow tree. Wherever I am, it must be spring. Small, beautiful, yellow flowers are budding on the willow above me, and the lush, green grass is sprinkled with wildflowers of every color. I inhale deeply, and the air is crisp and clear. I could stay here forever.   Perhaps, I am meant to stay here forever. Maybe I didn't survive the explosion, and this is my heaven. Getting to my feet, I wipe the dirt from my pants and make my way to the stream. I dip my toes into the wate

CHAPTER 77 Not a Werewolf
Mia's POV I cling to my mother. I can feel that our time is coming to an end.   "Don't leave," I say. "I have to. You have to continue to be strong," My mother calms me.   "I don't understand. I don't know what I am supposed to do with this information," I say.   "You will in due time. Just trust yourself and trust Thomas," My mother says. Her voice is now just a faint whisper, and she begins to feel as if she is dissolving within my hands.   Before I can respond, my eyes flutter open, and I see that I am lying in a bed. I can not help but feel the grief consume me as I think about my mother. I stare at the ceiling for what seems like an eternity thinking about what I saw. But was it real or just a figment of my imagination? When I think back to the meadow and my mother, I can still feel her arms around me and the cool breeze that blew through the massive weeping willow. It felt real. All of it felt real except for the part about me being a lycan. A shadow is cast over me

CHAPTER 78 Escape
Richard's POV I have lost track of how many days or weeks I have been rotting in this cell, waiting for the challenge Alpha Thomas laid down. No one bothers to visit me except for the guard bringing me my food daily. Each day I ask how many more days until the challenge, but I am told each time Alpha Thomas is traveling, and it will be just a little longer. I know if I am going to escape from this damp hell that I am in, now is the time. With Alpha Thomas on the move and his new Beta trying to run things, it is the perfect time for me to slip out unnoticed. With a small rock, I have begun to etch the guards' schedules into the wall, to the best of my knowledge. I am all the way in the back of the cells, and the guards rarely make their rounds down this way. I have noticed that they keep the younger prisoners at the front of the dungeon and patrol there much more often. The older prisoners are held in the back. The ones that are deemed less of a threat. I may not be a spring chi

CHAPTER 79 Tell Her
Thomas's POV Carefully I walk Mia up the front steps of the Paxton Pack pack house. I force her to take one step at a time, even though she is healed perfectly. On the other hand, I am not as young as I used to be, and it is taking longer to bounce back. My shoulder hasn't been the same since I rammed myself into the truck to wreck it, but I will never admit it. I have been hiding it well so far. As we walk up the stairs, the door flies open, and a little carbon copy of Ethan stands in the doorway with his arms crossed over his chest.   "What are you doing here?" The little boy asks with a little growl in the back of his voice.     "Hello, Ezra," I say, trying to be as polite as one can be to a five-year-old. "Don't you remember your Uncle Tommy?"   "I remember you," he pouts.   "Can we come inside?" I ask begrudgingly.   "She can," Ezra says crankily. "You have to wait outside."   "Why not me?" I ask, trying to hold back my laughter.   "I like her," Ezra says, puffing out

CHAPTER 80 Where is She?
Richard's POV I show up on the front steps of the Moonshadow pack house in tattered clothes, with cuts and bruises all over my body. I have been in wolf form for days trying to get as far away from the Red Moon Pack as quickly as possible. I have been living off of rabbits and other small prey, and their blood and dirt are splattered over what is left of my clothes. Raising my hand, I weakly knock on the door.     Alpha Aiden opens the door and takes one look at me before trying to slam the door in my face. Holding my hand out, I force the door open and make my way inside. Alpha Aiden looks at the trail of mud that I drug into the house with me and wrinkles his nose in disgust.   "Do you have any idea how dirty you are?" Alpha Aiden says with an air of arrogance.     "Do you have any idea what I have been through?" I snap at him.   Alpha Aiden looks over me with disgust, "You are still alive." His voice is cold and heartless.   "No thanks to you," I growl at him. "You promised
