Chapter 61
Luara's POV I had been ignoring Bryan, I didn't know what to say. The first day he tried talking to me calmly, trying to persuade me but with each try, I continued to ignore him.So as the next day came around, his anger started to show, he was getting more and more aggravated and frustrated with each day that passed. If he entered the room I was in, I'd leave. If he came into our bedroom just before I was going to sleep, I'd walk into the spare room opposite making sure to lock the door. Not that it stopped Bryan from knocking it down but after having done it four days in a row, he had gotten the point that he wasn't changing anything or helping himself.Bryan needed to realize that he needed to run his pack, not his father.Although his father is dead, Bryan still continues to use his father's diabolical practices. Bryan tried so hard to protect his mother from his father, he had fought his father for dominance and won but to his fault, he continues to allow his father to control h

Chapter 62
Luara's POV I wasn't sure if I had even heard Bryan right, the man standing in front of us was his grandfather?A frown echoed on my face as they continued to greet each other, I was beyond confused at this new information of Bryan still having a living family member. I wondered whether or not this was his mother's father or his dad's father, but from the smile on his grandfather's face, I quickly knew that it was his mother's."I'm Maxwell, you must be Bryan's mate whom he hasn't mentioned anything about?" He said while giving me a smile but also looking at Bryan disappointedly."Luara." I replied back with a smile. I looked up to see Bryan rolling his eyes at Maxwell, but he still had a slight smile on his face."Well, come in, I'll show you to your room." Maxwell said, before leading us into his home. I could hear young children playing as we walked through the kitchen, as I caught a view of them messing about in the garden. We soon began ascending some stairs with me still in Bry

Luara's POV It's been a few days since we arrived at Maxwell's territory and I've found myself sitting in the gardens with a few of the younger women in the pack, discussing general pack life and our own personal lives.I caught Bryan walking out the patio doors with Maxwell in the corner of my eye. I turned to watch as they walked out of the doors and stood next to the pack warriors that were guarding the pack house.Over the past few days, I'd been watching and taking notice of Bryan's behavior and how he changes in the presence of his grandfather, he's happier and more relaxed, and he feels safe in his presence as if he was a little kid again.I smiled as I looked toward my mate, but I was soon out of my thoughts as one of the women asked me a question and brought my attention back."How's living with an Alpha?" I said, repeating her question."Well, being the daughter of an Alpha, I've never known anything different."I looked at Bryan and noticed that he was listening to my conv

Luara's POV I woke up feeling dizzy and exhausted even though I purposely went to bed early the night before. Lately, I've been noticing that I've been feeling this way constantly for the past few weeks and I was beginning to get worried. Not only that but I kept finding myself racing to the bathroom to be sick.A frightening thought repeatedly kept going through my mind and I was begging for it not to be what I was assuming it to be.I was avoiding Bryan like the plague worried that he might have noticed a few changes in me.I sat on the edge of my bed impatiently waiting for Tiannah to arrive since it would look too suspicious if I was to leave the house to go to the store, there would be too many questions. So many thoughts raced through my mind, and I wondered if this was how my mom felt as she waited for her result when she was the same age as me. I was too young for a baby.I blocked my feelings and thoughts off from Bryan, I didn't want him to notice how anxious I was as he'd

Bryan's POVTorey's comment made me internally laugh but I never replied, a dark smirk echoed over my face for a split second before I made my facial expressions blank. We had an important meeting and I didn't want to hold it off longer than it already had been.I nodded at Torey to follow me and we walked through the kitchen and towards my office. The meeting only consisted of Alphas which is unusual since our Betas are always in our meetings for protection in case of any unprovoked or unexpected attack.I wasn't the type of Alpha to attack you when you weren't looking or when your back was facing me. I wanted you to know that I was going to take your life away from you.Four Alphas would be present in this meeting: Torey, Maxwell, Lucas, and myself.Lucas had a strong alliance with Prince – his sister was Prince's mate which meant that if I was to attack Prince's territory then I would end up having a war with Lucas. The idea didn't faze me because if anything that would be a gain.

Chapter 66
Luara's POV I woke up the next day bundled up within the warmth of my soft blankets with no Bryan in sight. His scent was still fresh in the air so I knew that he hadn't been gone too long.I laid in bed not ready or even prepared to force myself to get up until a bile blocked my throat and I could feel myself about to vomit.Rushing to the bathroom, I held my hair back with one hand while vomiting profusely until my stomach could not anymore.I moaned at the exhaustion of it all before forcing myself into the shower and brushing my teeth. I was hoping to have at least one day to stay in bed without being forced by this baby in my belly to get up at unruly times even if it was 11 o'clock in the morning.I was due to meet my dad in an hour or so, so after brushing my hair and applying the smallest amount of make-up, I went down stairs to get some breakfast to fill my empty stomach back up.I ended up shoving toast in the toaster and spreading too much Nutella on it that Lopez pulled a

Luara's POV All that could be heard was deep and fierce heavy breathing. My palms were sweating and my body almost locked into the position I was in from the fear that was plaguing my whole being. The tension was thick and so clouding that it wasn't even allowing rational thoughts to flow through my mind."What are you doing here?" I inquired. It came out my mouth quietly, even quieter than a whisper."What the fuck do you mean Luara?" He growled fiercely, clearly furious with what he would see as a betrayal as I never mentioned my pregnancy. "I came to see you but instead find out your pregnant with my baby and you didn't tell me."His words continued to come out in growls and his wolf was definitely on edge begging to come out and take control.I attempted to get words out of my mouth, but I couldn't. It was as if there was an invisible force covering my mouth enabling me to speak.I could only sit there and stare at him, his eyes were showing me what he felt and it was pure anger.

Luara's POV Bryan presence rapidly changed as he stood straight, his stance turning intimating as he took a step closer to Melinda. He growled darkly at her, warning her to listen as he captured her attention while taking it off of me. "This information stays between us, it is not information you are allowed to share. If you fail to do so, I will carry out the threat I promised before."From the dark look in his eyes, his wolf was definitely lucking at the surface. His eyes had changed from emerald green to pitch black, his eyes narrowed on Mellissa as his wolf took over using his authority as an Alpha to command her to abide by his rules and demands. His words reminding me of the day that I had stopped him from taking her life as he dangled her by the scruff of her t-shirt as she sat in a prison cell months ago."Don't you have a mate to be with?" Bryan asked, his voice sounded calm, but you could hear the deadly tone in his voice as he raised his eyebrow in question.Melinda con

Luara's POV "A baby girl?" Bryan repeated.Greg smiled, nodding. "A little girl." He confirmed, typing away at his computer.Bryan's smile was infectious, and I rarely got to see it but when I did, it made my stomach flutter with butterflies."I have printed out a few scan photos for you to keep. We need to arrange another appointment for a few weeks to see how the baby is doing." Greg said as he handed me an envelope with the scans in."There's a few concerns that I have," I began. "I have still yet to feel her move and as you know already, I have no pregnancy scent."Greg looked at me, and bit on his bottom lip. "I'm not sure why you have no scent but all babies are different, I can tell on the scans that she is very much healthy. Hopefully, she'll start moving around soon." He said, reassuring me.I pulled my top down, as I began moving from the hospital bed, hearing Bryan thank the doctor before pulling me out of the infirmary and through the pack house. He held my hand, we bo
