CHAPTER SIX

THIRD PERSON'S POV

Myra was mistaken if she didn't think Xavier cared. He cared, something he wasn't ready to admit. He wasn't even ready to accept her as a mate. Maybe because he knew there was no happiness he could give her. After all, how could he make her happy when all he had known all his life was pain.

Even when he had Sarah as a mate, knowing she wasn't his mate, he hoped she wouldn't be so hurt. Every time he saw the pain in her eyes all because of him, his heart wrenched.

But who did she think she was to change him, he had been lonely for so long and all over a sudden she shows up looking so beautiful claiming to be his mate. He had made himself a promise years earlier that he wouldn't take a mate, Sarah meant nothing to him. In fact, she was merely there to frustrate Myra , maybe then she would leave.

But did he really want her to leave?

He wasn't sure, not after he had seen her beautiful eyes, her long soft hair, her plump lips inviting him for a taste every time he looked at her and oh her shapely body that had shone in the moonlight when they were together in her room.

He wasn't even sure if he could let her go anymore, maybe he could keep her, without matting her that is.

"Why do you treat me like this. " she cried and just then Xavier noticed her tears, this time she let them fall freely. Xavier gave Sarah a look and she left the room. Now it was just the two of them.

"I am your mate, i didn't ask for any of this either. If you don't want me then just reject me. Please spare me the mysery"

Oh she was hurt, but it hurt him even more. How would it not when they were basically one, his pain was hers.

He reached foward to comfort her but she moved back and raced out of the room. He couldn't let her leave like that. He had to comfort her.

Xavier followed Myra to the balcony were she was but stood a few feet away. She was so hurt that se didn't even hear his scent.

"You are so cruel." he heard her whisper, tears still streaming down her face.

"How can you do this to me. You know how much I have prayed to you for a mate. How could you give me someone who hates me, someone who doesn't want me. It would have been better if you had denied me a mate. All my life you have only given me pain and today you have only added onto that pain. I have lost all faith in you. Thank you for making me realize that there will never be any happiness in my life." She got up and made her way to her room, passing Xavier without acknowledging his presence.

"I have been through alot, this is just another punishment for hoping, for dreaming, for wishing for what is beyond me" She said as she went to bed.
